    Hi,

I'm heading down to Kerry next week on holidays with the family and want to bring my son fishing. I went fishing maybe 5 times when I was in my teens, but must admit I'm clueless about the sport.

I'm looking for advice as to what sort of rod, reel and bait to use and how much to expect to pay. I hope to be fishing from piers next week but I live in the midlands so preferably equipment that can be used both freshwater and saltwater fishing.

Any advice you can offer is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    JP
