I do 300 miles round the city every week. You get sick of that very fast if all it is to run in and pick up or drop keys.

Or someone has water leaking and there's nothing on anywhere near.

Lucky parking wardens have a different opinion to you

Got caught yesterday 40 euro fine - was in the loading bay 90 seconds max .

Told the warden I was offloading post into Post Office , which I was .

He said the loading bay is for vans / trucks only .

Could I win an appeal ?

Next time park on double yellows with you boot open. It's perfectly legal to do so.

Technically a commercial delivery I'd have thought.

It doesn't matter what you are commercially delivering , it's based on your vehicles tax class.

    Why so:confused:

"Double Yellow Lines: No parking at any time except while actively loading/unloading for a maximum of 30 minutes."

    Above must be true ,

Anyway this evening I was passing up by the same loading bay and another car - another ticket €40.

So turned the corner , and here was a truck parked on double lines offloading goods .
I said to warden '' that's not a loading bay and look where he's parked'

Warden said '' yes because loading bay is full ''

So I looked over at loading bay which was full but with a private car , and the warden just kept walking past .

Hilarious how van drivers go mad about someone in a car parking in a loading bay even though they're doing a delivery, yet they themselves have no issue parking where ever the fcuk they want as long as they throw on the aul hazards.

But sure everyone knows that the car/truck/double-decker-bus/artic isn't really there if the hazards are on?

    Don't they?

So how could it be causing an obstruction

Still they lousy that they give a ticket instantly on arrival at the scene .

Surely warden should wait at least a minute to suss out the situation first.

    What situation though?

Private vehicles aren't permitted to be in loading bays during their operational hours, full stop.

(And yes, I have done that and worse, and got away with it. But wouldn't be complaining if I'd got done :D)

No you need to have the vehicle taxed as commercial

Well I wonder why he picked on me after just 30 seconds in the bay , and yet today I witnessed him passing by a similar private car in another loading bay , and he ignored it . ( read my post above at 5pm)

Did the loading bay have a sign with times clearly displayed? If not, you can get off with the ticket as there has to be a sign with the times on it. Happened to me but there was no sign, so the ticket was cancelled.

    I feel your pain OP.

Got done for parking in a wheelchair bay outside B&Q. Damn fools didn't accept that purchasing castors for an office chair was a valid excuse :pac:

Why spend a minute sussing out the situation? Non commercially taxed vehicle in a loading bay. You can suss that out in a few seconds.

He could have used his discretion , but instead he arrived at the scene and instantly printed ticket .

Why was he in a hurry , these guys just stroll around town all day every day .

Maybe he was in a hurry to get to lunch? Couldn't you have just parked in a pay and display zone and walked a bit further to the post office?

I know the moral of the story , of course I should have parked in P & D and walked .

Anyway my business in this case , and every evening takes 60 seconds to complete .
Into PO , walk to counter , throw in the company post . , and out again.

    60 seconds max
