Hi all. I'm looking for a bit of advice. I've moved out of my mum's house and have obviously started cooking for myself but I've managed to put on so much weight eating absolute crap food it's not even funny. I literally cried for an hour today I was so depressed when I saw myself in the mirror. I need help and fast to get on the track to being an ideal weight for my height I'm looking to lose 4 stone. There is a slimming world class near me and I'm hoping they can give me the encouragement I need to kick myself into healthy weight loss. I am really unfit but I have started jogging to incorporeal exercise into my daily routine.

So is slimming world worth my while? Do people have any success stories that will make me feel a little better? :) thanks!!

Check out the slimming world page on here it's full of people currently doing it.
I definitely found it good to start off with. It's not cheap at a tenner a week but it's all about healthy eating and limiting junk food. You could always get one of the magazines and it would give you a feel for it.

I'm counting calories. I try to stay under 1500 calories a day and I'm steadily losing weight. I can't be as active as I'd like but I go for walks every day and use a counter on my phone to track progress. I'm feeling a lot better now. It's so easy to over eat with such an abundance of calorie rich food around. By keeping track of what you eat, you can make the first steps. I avoid wheat, pulses and potatoes and if I eat rice, I only have 2 table spoons full. I eat lots of vegetables, meat, fish and fruit. I have cut down on cheese as that seemed to be one of my downfalls. If you look on the wrappings in the supermarket, it gives you portion size and calories and gives you an idea of how much you are eating.
    I hope you have success.

OP groups like slimming world are brilliant for getting your head in the right place for weight loss. It is also fantastic for accountability and group support.
However, nutritionally and for life long health they can be a bit hit and miss (I think Slimming World's portion control or lack of it, is dodgy) but take them with a pinch of salt, educate yourself about nutrition in general and they can help get you on the right road! :)
