Yeast Overgrowth

Im pretty sure I have a yeast overgrowth problem!

I have had reoccurring thrush since my teens and in the past five months Ive had many other symptoms that all allude to the problem.
Ive had an 'allergy test' done when I got particularly bad and that did peak at yeast but I kinda took that with a huge dose of salt!

However, Im so lethargic and generally not feeling well I decided to look into it more. My own doctor just said to cut out bread and id be fine - only i dont much eat bread anyway!

I decided to do the spit test this morning and that showed the classic result of yeast overgrowth.

I would like it properly confirmed and that I could work with someone on creating a proper plan of action to create the proper balance again! But after my doctors less than helpful answer, Im not sure what I can do! Most of the information on line is American based and so not as helpful!

Does anyone know of somewhere doctor/natural therapies that I could go to, to try get this sorted??

I started taking udos oil super 8 (must be kept in the fridge) which is a very high potency pro biotic which I definitely think helps.

Im taking acidophilus complete from sona now - its got billions of good bacteria apparently. Is it enough to take the udos by itself for your problem?

I was considering taking an antifungal like garlic capsules too but Im not sure how good that would be!

I think im most concerned about diet as the anti candida diet seems ridiculously restrictive and so finding a professional (pref dublin based) would be so good!

    The spit test is unreliable.

You need to figure out the root cause of the yeast problem or it's going to keep coming back, a probiotic alone won't do anything.

Do a good parasite cleanse first, then go heavy on antifungals like caprylic acid, pau d'arco, raw garlic etc. You can buy most of this stuff off ebay anyway. Pm me if you need more info.

I could imagine it is, but in the absence of my doctor even considering it as a possibility I really dont know what else to do!

Again without proof i think it would be a combo of diet and stress playing a part.

Although my iron levels were slightly on the lower side of things during my last batch of tests, at which time i also had the allergy one done.

I really need to be steered in the direction of a doctor who at least would consider this, or something similar as an issue!

You need to cut out all sugar for at least two weeks. It's very hard but you get used to it and you should feel miles better after a few days.

I suggest eating half a tub of natural yoghurt a day early in the morning. Make sure that it's not a low fat one. The best one is Glenilen and you can buy it in Dunnes.

Add plenty of garlic to your dishes as it is an anti fungal.

In terms of supplements, Ortis Beneflora is super and you can add it to the natural yoghurt in the morning. It is full of lactobacillus and you take a sachet of it every morning. There are 7 sachets per box and its around 11 euro in H&B.

Other good supplements for candida are olive leaf extract, oregano oil, pau d'arco which Brianw1 mentioned.

If you need the name of a doctor who specialises in treating candida, just send me a pm.
