    Hi,

I am looking for recommendations for a reputable clinic/beautician who does eyebrow tattoos for cancer patients who have lost their eyebrows as a result of treatment.

I am looking for someone good, who has a good track record and who is understanding of cancer patients and will listen to what they want.

    Thanks in advance

I don't know I'm afraid. I wonder would the Irish cancer society have any recommendations?

Elizabeth Oakes does amazing work in this field :

There is a new treatment where they can attach fine hairs in place of the eyebrow hairs but obviously this isn't permanent like the tattoo. There is also a technique called embroidery that is permanent and slightly softer. I've seen Elizabeth Oakes work and it looked amazing. Hope your relative gets well soon op.

I've seen ads for a cosmetic tattooist at The Midas Touch out at Newlands Cross, but have no personal experience with her. It's a specialist who comes once a month (or used to), and does eyebrows, eyeliner (ouch!) and lipliner.

If she's currently undergoing treatment, make sure she checks with the doctors before going for anything like a tattoo. It can take up to a year for the eyebrows to fill back in, and they may never be quite as full as before. How long ago is it since her treatment stopped? I have a tattoo (not my eyebrows) and hair doesn't grow there any more, so I'd be wary of getting my eyebrows tattooed if there's a chance they could still grow back. If treatment hasn't been that long ago, would henna be a possibility?

This is Elizabeth Oakes ! She has also trained girls that work their to do the embroidery and tattooing ! It's also the same salon that offers the treatment attaching the hairs ! Small world. I know that Elizabeth Oakes goes to different salons so if you aren't in dublin op perhaps she travels to your area. A friend had her brows done to cover a scar and they were fab! I also watched her do a treatment on someone at the beauty expo and I have to say she really looked great after.

I just had a look at her website and it specifically states that they have experience in dealing with cancer patients she even tattoos nipples for breast reconstruction patients !

Didn't know her name, and initially thought you were calling me Elizabeth Oakes, which I thought was a bit odd of you. I'd seen one or two examples of her work on real people, and it looked well, though I'm not sure how long it had been done when I saw her.

I had forgotten the nipples, though I don't know how, as I spent about a week after seeing the leaflet with my arms folded across my chest. I presume if you've had reconstruction, the area may be slightly less sensitive than normal. I hope.

Lol at you thinking I was calling you that! I know they numb the area for the duration of the treatment the pain comes after. I just thought it was amazing that they could actually tattoo realistic looking nipples, I know if it was me in that situation I would want it done. I would love my eye brows done I just have to save up the money now :(

Thanks everyone for the quick responses. I really appreciate it.

It is over two years since her treatment, no sign of eyebrows growing back.

Yes, Elizabeth Oakes popped up when I did a google search. Good to hear positive things about her.

Location isn't a major issue, she will happily travel to Dublin, it's more about finding a suitable and reputable clinic.

There is a list of locations all over the country that she visits on her website where abouts roughly are you?
