Dublin Docklands Photowalk Thurs 21st August!

    Forecast looks good for tomorrow night and if it's anything like tonight then the light looked pretty good. Sunset is approx 20:45 so I think if we meet at 8pm then we'll be fine. Or.. go earlier and I'll see you at 8pm! (Can't get out of work any earlier but I don't want to stop others meeting if you wish).

    Meeting point: In front of Jury's Hotel on the Quays (North Quay)
    Time: 8pm

    From here, I think we will wander about the general area on the northside and then cross over to the Beckett Bridge. We might nominate a meeting point afterwards for a cup of coffee/something stronger - will be decided as we walk.

    Grrrr... want to go to this but looks like I can't!

    I'm househunting and I've a viewing at 7.20pm which I will go to straight from work, I would possibly have been able to make it for 8pm after the viewing but I don't have my camera equipment at work with me and I wouldn't be able to go home and get it after the viewing because that would take too long...

    not happy!

    I'm in a meeting in work until 6.30pm and then will pop home for my camera. Though it's still raining here, odd!

    If it's raining at around 7.30pm I won't be going in - but otherwise I'll see you there!

    Probably would've been difficult for me to come without a tripod anyway. Can you guys recommend me a good tripod that is flexible and has decent extendible arms?

    You can't go wrong if you get a tripod from Manfrotto. They have tripods covering a range of budgets. Some other brands do them cheaper as well. But in any case, I would make sure to find one that had a trigger release otherwise it is a pain having to unscrew the thread each time you want to take the camera off the tripod.

    If you don't mind spending more, it's worth getting a ball head mount, they're very nice.
