just bought six turkey breast steaks from tesco for €6. i usually buy 2 chicken fillets (free range) which cost €5. is there much difference in protein from turkey breast steaks and chicken fillets? obviously the price is much cheaper

What's the difference in grams/kg between the chicken fillets and turkey breasts?

There's very little difference in protein by weight.

Free range always costs a lot more anyway.

The chickens will have enjoyed living a bit more...gambolling around the fields and such.

    How do you define quality?

    Taste?

Can't say I've ever noticed a massive difference.

quality as in free range id imagine is healthier, higher quality of protein

I have never see turkey breast for much cheaper than the cheapest chicken breasts in tesco, in fact its often more expensive.

Protein & fat content is about the same. I always guessed many people are used to overdone superdry christmas turkey -and so think the fat levels are very different.

And just like chicken thighs, I often hear on TV about turkey being so cheap, but I just don't see it in supermarkets I am in, that goes for chicken thighs too (when you work out the actual meat weight minus the bones)
