    Hi,

    Im 34, 6.2 and 113kgs(mostly fat).
Started back at the gym a few weeks back and going well so far.
Just wondering if I'm doing things correctly.

For the first 2 weeks i was going 3-4 days p/wk after work for and hour and just doing cardio.
i started off on the cross trainer coz years of being fat and sedentary meant the treadmill looked painful.
The last week Ive gone 5 days and want to go up to 6 days .In the next few weeks. Last week I started running everyday and am really liking it. Ran 45 mins today and then did 25 minutes of weights/push up/situps.

To be honest I'm not arsed about the weights. id be quite happy just doing cardio. Is that enough to shed the weight? Or should I keep doing weights too?
Id like to lose 2 stone buy xmas maybe.

    Any advice would be good.

Keep doing the weights. It will aid weight loss and improve how your body looks in a way cardio wont. Squats etc will also increase your strength so things like running will be less likely to cause injury.

Strength work is a really important part of overall fitness.

As someone who never had any interest in doing weights and who always did cardio, I would suggest give giving weights a go.

You're unlikely to keep doing something you don't like so don't try to force yourself to do anything. Just give weights a go.

And other things for that matter. If you enjoy it, you'll keep it up.

Thanks for the advice. Also starting the days with porridge. Good or bad?

Depends on what you have the rest of the day. Can't say it's a bad start though!

I was fatter when all I did was cardio, and it did a **** load of cardio. 5-10 times a week.

Weights are the best thing by a mile for shaping your body
