I used to have a great plumber, but when I found out where he did a cookery course, the pipes started leaking.

First he slagged off The Gathering and now this, the utter bollix.

Seriously though, wasn't there rumours that Tim Allen was the fall guy for another family member?

Sure was. Not a lot of people know this, but he also dealt in cocaine for a while and even did some time for it too.

    Because he is a hypocrite?

A friend of mine totally refuses to buy any Ballymaloe products because of
'that pervert' who was convicted for downloading paedophile images. :(

Still rants about the image of Darina holding her accused husband's hand as
    they entered court every day.

I refuse to buy them because I can't afford them. However I do shoplift their excellent relish on a regular basis. Everything tastes better when its free and you have to put a little work into acquiring it.

Thanks to all the folks at M&S, Jervis Street.

Well, he is far from alone in that:

I'm not trying to suggest with the above that the sentence Allen received was either appropriate nor apt, just that it seems to be consistent to what many people who have committed similar crimes have received in this country and so the accusations that he got off light because of who he was, are somewhat hollow in that regard.
We always hear people complaining about our celebrity obsessed society and how celebs are needlessly fawned over, and perhaps rightly so, but surely what is happening here is not too far removed from that same sort of celeb obsession, as if this guy had been working in the kitchens of some back street dive in Cork at the time, then there wouldn't have been anyway near the level of outcry that there was at the time, let alone one that keep cropping back up, now over a decade later. It's clear that the sentence imposed was not out of the ordinary and so there really is little need to be dragging it back up all these years later. If the guy is ever found to be accessing such images again, I will be one of the first ones calling for a custodial sentence, but until such time, maybe it's time to let the Allens alone.

Reading through some of those, you
would really wonder what it would
take to have some if those people imprisoned! Did they actually have to
    abuse/rape the children before the
judges would sentence them to jail??:(

    Incorrect, read the thread perhaps?

It's a real shame as Gabriel Byrne spouts out about being a survivor of child abuse and how gross it is and yet supports the very place that supports...................oh it's just wrong, bad decision Gabriel, very bad decision

PS Aldi's Country relish made by Follain is farrrrrr superior and half the price at €1.79, far superior

What does one do with country relish exactly? Is it something you put on bread or dip meat in or...?

You put it on cheese sandwiches but only if the bread being used has cost you more than €2 for the loaf.

Don't really hold it against the other family member but I boycott all Ballymaloe stuff too

I think too many people in ireland are fond ranting against things but do nothing about it that would inconvenience themselves.
They will demand sex abusers to be hung but continue to buy this brand.

Before dipping his meat, Mr. Byrne will no doubt use Ballymaloe Cuntry Relish for lubrication.
