+1 just because a pool is there doesn't mean you have to use it. It's probably one the best value gyms in the area.

It's a tenner over the other Dunnes for the privelege of not using it.

Though if the non chain ones are around the same money then it'd still be an option. I just wanted to suss out a few prices. I suppose Lucan Dunnes wouldn't be out of the question for distance either though now that I look.

True but you still have the option of the hydropool (you don't need to swim for that) and the sauna plus there is plenty more space over the other Dunne's gyms

Is the tenner really an issue?! Because the pool isn't the only factor effecting price.

Rates, rent, location etc etc are all bundled into the pricing structure.

If you want a basic gym with good gear and good dudes around - go to the one I linked at the start :)

Do you go here yourself? What's it like at peak times?

My membership is up in a months time and I currently go to the one in the Coolmine community centre. Wanted something cheap last year but looking to do more now and with only 1 squat rack/bench and a small free weights area it can be annoying at times.

Nice people at it though and no posers/egos.

Animal Barbell in Coolmine is very good. Just an honest no nonsense gym. Think there's one in castleknock where tractamotors used to be and also one in St Brigid's as well.

Why is that worrying? It's a brand new well stocked gym that's only just opened up. They probably havne't got around to sorting their website out yet.

In the same position myself I'm looking at Westside, Anatomic Fitness Castleknock, Westmanstown, Castleknock Strenght and Conditioning and Coolmine - does anyone have an idea of the Pros and Cons of each?

Need a bit of motivation getting back - so smaller with motivated instructors that might keep you focused would be good!

What do you want? Coaching each sesh? To be left alone? A gym where no one knows you? Something else entirely?

Hey Hanley sorry for the delay - been AWOL last few weeks. Somewhere that would be a bit more personal with instructors that would kick you up the hole if you need it. Have a set of kettlebells at home so free weights, crossfit and TRX would be great - a pool if possible - but instructors the main thing.
