If so at what time of the day do you do it and for how long? Also how often do you nap?

I myself notice that after a busy day of trying to take over the world and I want to go to the gym in the evening, then I must go nap for approximately 45 minutes preceding my workout.

I nap at the weekends. I seem to still wake up on a Sat and Sun and stupid o'clock as if i was in work. Get up, clean and do stuff around the house or head out shopping. Then home for a power nap at about 3 for an hour then i'm all set for the night :)

If I had a crappy day at work I'll throw on the headphones, some chilled music on youtube and have a sleep on the couch for an hour or so.

Or you could go full hardcore and just nap

Nope. If I have a nap I'll wake up all cold and shaky.

If I've a big feed in the middle of the day yes.

Nope, had to accept long ago that I just cannot nap, I invariably wake up feeling like I've a hangover.

I used to work for a company where we had a "quiet room". You could use it for a nap. I only did it once when I had a bad hangover.

Yep, every chance I get I go for a snoo

Only of a Saturday or Sunday. Throw on an aul boring documentary on Netflix or Youtube, and off I go:cool:

Not normally, have found on the rare occasions that I have done it that I couldn't sleep that night.

Only real exception is when I get a migraine...then I curl up in the bed a and try nap it away.

I wake up an angry fecker if I nap, so I try to avoid it.

I can't nap properly. I wake up all disoriented and anxious, like I'm on the run from the law.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

No. I usually avoid sleep like the plague.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,044 ✭✭✭Wossack

    cant nap

my brain just thinks its normal sleep time, and I end up sleeping for 8-9 hours, waking up at stupid o'clock in the morning

Me too, I don't know how people do it. I end up waking up in a worse state than before I napped.

This happens me. If i doze off during the day, il wake up in a cold sweat and dont know what is going on for at least a half hour. hate it.

    It's really disorientating isn't it?

I don't know how people find it rejuvenating. I feel like I've missed part of the day and am extremely groggy and almost hungover. So much so that I'd rather just stay asleep.

Hell no. If I fell asleep for half-an-hour or so during the day I'd be completely wrecked and like a cut-cat with temper! :pac:

id love to be able to but a combination of a 1 year old at home and the fact that my body just wont go asleep during the day means that i cant day nap.

That is my only exception as well. If I had a bad migraine, I need to take 2 painkillers and get into bed to sleep

I sleep 9 hours a day but still love my weekend naps. Always fit in a 2 hour sleep between 5 and 7pm.

There's something sinfully decadent about going back to bed on a weekday afternoon for a nap, especially if you've got company;)

Every chance I get, I have a nap. If I wake up early I go to work and have a nap at lunchtime at home, if I'm not up early I have a nap when I get home.

Naps cure everything. If I'm stressed, I have a nap and I'm good as new.

Yes in the last year I've mastered the art of napping. Not every day mind just those days when my eyes and brain cannot function without that extra forty winks. I love it, keeps me civilised.

Without the pressures of work i think i'd be ok with a different cycle, on holidays or if we have had a late friday or saturday night we usually go to bed around 5pm for a couple of hours, back up fresh for the nights activities.

Stuff goes on way later here, so weekend napping is fairly normal. Bit of daytime sexytime thrown into the mix as well.

If I had no reason to work I'd do that during the week. Bit of early afternoon wine in there too, to help the lunch go down and to tee up a decent nap.

I'd make an excellent feckless billionaire.

I can only sleep at night, in the dark, in a bed. Was never able to just lie down and 'nap' and I get by grand on 5 hours of sleep a night which is the norm for me.

I'm mad annoying to have around early in the morning because once I wake up that's me up, I'll happily stay in bed for a bed reading or watching something - but I won't fall back to sleep again.

Snap. Don't know how anyone with a decent job can fit a nap in at any rate.

Nothing beats a nap, 10 minutes would do me and be good for a few more hours again.

I nap for about an hour or so most days. Grab the dog and have a light kip all curled up in a warm ball in the bed. It's nice and it's good for calming me down when my brain moves at warp speed. My mother thinks I'm being lazy but it really does help me function.

Napping is great craic. That moment when you curl up and it's still bright out. I always feel like I'm getting away with murder. Then 30 minutes later I wake up drooling and I'm hungry again.

Pregnant with my first. I nap all the time.

I think napping is lovely to do, I always feel great afterwards.

Would do it if I didn't get much sleep the night before and had to wake up early, have about a two hour nap. Also if it's lashing out and freezing and I get drenched I love coming home, putting on my jammies and snuggling up with the duvet for a nice nap :)

Nope. If I nap I just feel like crap for the rest of the day. Takes me a while to sleep anyway so seems pointless!

I love napping :) Especially on weekends around 3 or 4pm for an hour or so.. my sleep is generally poor so actually find it to be the most restful sleep I have all week.

    Love going for a nap

After a hard day of work I can usually go for a 2/3 hour nap, get up for about 2/3 hours and then back to sleep for the night.
Today was working from 7.30 until 6, slept from 6.30 till 10 and I'll be back in the bed at 12 again!

I'd nap all day if I could get away with it!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,226 ✭✭✭boobar

    Not very often.

Having said that I was off yesterday and went for a long hike, crashed out on the couch for an hour when I got home.

Had a pretty full on day today at work and again snoozed on the couch this evening for an hour and a half.

On the weekend I would nap before heading out for a night out. Can be tough getting back up but once you fully wake up you feel great.

The afternoon slump gets me on days when I'm not working-sitting in front of the telly, eyes start closing and opening and closing and........................................

Serial napper!! God be with the days I used to take naps every day, usually from about 1 until 5 or 6. Now I'm lucky if I sleep more than 2 hours without waking up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 279 ✭✭Angry_Mammarys

No I don't nap:( It's hard enough for me to get to sleep at night, without adding a nap into the mix:(
