A local family only pay interest only on their mortgage. I could understand that if below wasn't happening.

    Eat lunch out every Sunday.
3-4 sky subscriptions in the house.
    Each has a car.
Yet one of them only works and p/t at that.
Always looking for new tv's, stoves etc

Crazy mixed up priorities IMO a roof over your head is more important than the discovery channels. I find it hard to disagree with banks telling people to cancel sky get rid of a dog etc

What examples do you know, of people with screwed up priorities in your opinion?

They can pay whatever they like and it's none of your business. Look after your own affairs and keep your mouth shut about other people's.

People spending €3000-4000 a year on cigarettes and then claiming they don't have enough money for food, heat, rent.

Exactly 4 sky subscriptions at €65 is €260 a month
1 sky subscription with multroom would be no more than €100

Im sure each member are paying €65 instead of €20 each month

What a load of ****e the OP has posted

Touched a nerve have I?? I thought this was a forum for expressing an opinion I have done that and if you don't like it not my problem. They volunteered info . I did not go seeking it. And I made my opinion clear to them. Who are you to be telling anyone to shut up

OP, how can you possibly agree with people having to get rid of a pet because their mortgage provider wants the money the owner spends on the pet? You do realise that most dogs/cats surrendered to pounds are killed after a week don't you?

In all fairness if you did do plenty of things other than minding what other people do with their money, it probably would mean that you wouldn't have the time to spend thinking about other people's business. And certainly not enough time to go to the trouble of starting a thread about it.

I doesn't have to be given to a pound necessarily people can find a good home in a variety of ways. Wasn't advocating having the animal destroyed.
On mortgage point people should take personal responsibility for their debts no one forced them to take on a mortgage

Worse still...I'll wager they are all going to take several baths per day EACH,from January !

You better find some other aspect of your life to surrender so that you'll be able to pay for those as well....:(

They are paying their mortgage, albeit only the interest portion. Have they told you, in the indepth discussions you appear to have with them about their personnel affairs, that they have no intention of ever paying off the capital ? The bank are taking interest only on this mortgage, so I assume they have no problem with the arrangement. Why do you have more of an issue with it than the lender ?

Don't hate the player, hate the system.

I've seen many examples of stupidity. It's all too common in Ireland. It still baffles me how when people are piss poor/on the dole, yet they still decide to go out every night.

4 living in a house. Only one works. Logic would dictate that the rest are on the dole. If they are using said dole to pay for cars and luxury items like Sky and cars as opposed to paying off their debts then that would make them dole scroungers.

I think that James Watson, co-discoverer of DNA with Michael Crick, said a few years ago that certain genes 'carried' stupidity and could be identified and modified. So there may actually be a cure (more of a prevention really) for stupidity.

But,but,....Candie...that's far easier when you're not having to PAY so much to fund "everyone else's" lifestyle, particularly when their version of it far exceeds yours in terms of excess :)
