    A 99.

The name has nothing to do with the cost of it.

Originally they cost 9 groats and 9 tuppence. It was just a freak coincidence when we moved to metric that it worked out as 99p

Sure a 69 is €100, depending on where you go in Capel street and Smithfield.

    I heard

Because 99 is the product code for the flakes and the name doesn't reflect the cost.?
    Does a BMW 520 cost 520 euro?

Our local ice-cream van charges €2.50 for a 99 - and if he reads this thread he might increase that to €2.99.
