    Hi
I'm not noticing significant change on my weight despite changing a lot of things.
l'm eating better (cutting out desserts, takeaways), eating less and healthier (cooking for myself more instead of going out, eating earlier, exercising more (500 cals on elliptical, golf, swimming) yet I've yet to see any real results.

I was thinking to myself why bother. Just go back to the pizzas of this is the case.
I'm not even sure if I'm overweight but I want to lose about 20 lb (over maybe 3 months) to feel better/look better. Any ideas why I'm not seeing results.

If you weren't overweight then you may be staying the same weight or even putting on weight by toning up.

I was/am overweight but have gone from slightly pot bellied and unfit two years ago to running five times a week and cycling nearly every day. I weigh the same only my waste has got smaller and I'm much fitter and stronger.

Sorry I have put on about 20 lb (possibly more over the past couple of years). Suits don't fit etc. So I am overweight I suppose (maybe i just don't like actually saying that LOL).
I'm tall so it's people would say I don't really have an issue and can carry any weight I've put on.
The weight is mostly around the belly/waist probably like yourself.
So basically I just want to get rid of this mostly. And maybe drop 20 lbs in doing so.
I'm tired of not feeling as good as I could.
But as I say, I'm puzzled why it's not falling off more with the changes I've made.

So you're not sure if your over weight or not and yet you want to lose 20 pounds.

You took up swimming and golf.

And you started cooking more and getting take aways less.

And you're wondering why the pounds aren't flying off.

As I said in my second post I am overweight (according to BMI- not by much in fairness, 27.5).
So yeah I'm trying to get rid of the 20-30 or so lbs I put on in the last couple of years.

I'm not sure what you're saying in the second bit of your post.

Post up a (honest!) days eating that you'd normally eat and drink. No offence but what you may consider healthy may not be healthy at all. And even if it is healthy, it is still possible to put on weight if you're eating above maintenance calories.
Have you worked out your maintenance and TDEE?

You need to work out how many calories you need to consume for your height and weight just to exist everyday. That's known as your BMR. How to do this is in the stickies. You then use a multiplier depending on how active you are. Be careful with this though. People tend to overestimate the calories burned doing exercise. The machines are notorious for over estimating. I doubt you are actually using 500cals on the elliptical machine for example.

When you've done that you can use an app such as myfitnesspal to track the calories you are eating. Weighing your food initially is important as again people tend to underestimate the quantities they are eating.

Eat 300-500 less than your maintence calories and you will loose weight. It's straightforward. The hard part is the meal prep and self discipline when faces with the biscuit tin!

you have taken up extra movement which is great but you are not really training i.e. you are not following a program with some basic structure e.g. 10mins mobility work, 20mins strength work, 10mins conditioning, 10mins mobility work, thats proper training that will chang your body.

you might have made small changes to your nutrition but not addressed your carb intake and possibly total calories also

    all the best

If you're not losing weight then you are still eating too many calories. Cooking for yourself is great, and far healthier than getting take aways, but if you're eating a mountain of pasta with dinner then you're still going to be taking in too much. You'd be surprised how all the little things add up. Don't forget booze. A single nights drinking can count as your entire calories for that day! Snacks in the evening count.

As suggested, give an honest account of what you'd eat in a day and people can give some feedback. Unless you're very strictly counting calories you're probably eating a lot more than you realise.

Also, if you haven't lost weight, you might at least have not gained any more, which would probably not have been the case with all the takeaways.
