RTE Weather Girl - Who dresses her?

Just watching the weather on RTE. The girl who does the weather - the one with the long dark hair? Her dress sense is SHOCKING!! Sorry ladies, I don't have her name...

She's just presented the weather wearing a yellow dress with gathers across the bust. Unflattering isn't the word! She needed a better bra and to get rid of the drape detail across her (ample) bust. It made her look as though she had four busts!!! The colour suited her, and she has a good figure, but the dress she wore tonight did NOTHING for her...

It's not the first time she's worn such awful clothes. Who the hell told her the dress she wore tonight looked good??

Sharon Ni Bheolain is another whose dress sense hurts my eyes.

Both ladies are in need of a decent stylist, I think!

I would say they dress themselves. I doubt RTE has a budget for glam gear for doing the weather or reading the news.

They must get a clothing allowance, surely? Even if they didn't, a quick trip to Debs/BT to get the services of a personal shopper should sort them out! And the weather lady needs to be fitted for a decent bra! :)

In fairness, she's there to tell you what the weather's going to be. What difference does it make what clothes she wears?

And did you see the state of Brian Dobson tonight?

    No?

    Didn't think so.

The appeal of getting the RTE weather forecast is the individuality of the presenters. Didn't they try getting dolled-up presenters to give the weather for a while years back, similar to Sky etc., instead of meteorologists? Didn't last long...

Once she is happy with the way she looks does it matter what the rest of us think?

I'd much rather have a qualified meteorologist read the weather, someone who actually knows what they are talking about than some pretty boy or girl who just reads it off an autocue.

I would agree. But the clothes aren't flattering. That's my point. And yes - I did see the state of Brian Dobson. Wasn't impressed either!

I also agree the Sky female presenters are very overdone. Cocktail dresses and full slap at 7am!

OK, no offence but a) isn't there a Fashion and Appearance forum and a TV forum? why is the Ladies' Lounge the place you thought best for this? Not all of us like bitching about other womens' clothes, some of us find it pretty nasty. b) Fair enough you noticed Brian Dobson too, but you didn't mention him, you just wanted to give out about the "weather girl" (I'm pretty sure it's all qualified meteorologists on RTÉ, I could be wrong though).

I'm sure you weren't trying to be nasty, but wrong crowd man.

Didn't see the weather earlier, do you mean Jean Byrne? I think she's fab. Also agree with previous poster this is quite a bitchy post, maybe not suited to here,

Evelyn Cusack was on one of those Nationwide type programmes a couple of years back and she was doing a behind the scenes thing and life as a meteorologist and she was showing her wardrobe at RTE. What I took from it at the time was that RTE paid for the clothes but she had an input into what was bought.

So I'm guessing Jean Byrne does the same. Can't say I'm a fan of her clothes but at least it's something different and they are there to present the weather and she is qualified.

RTE weather team are qualified. What they read off the auto cue - they have done the research for and made their own tv script from that.

Likes of Martin King- they are fed the information from a place in the UK.

The "weather girl" gave a few interviews about her wardrobe and she has I think a fb page or something like that dedicated to her. So frankly she is very happy discussing her own appearance and qualifications (which are excellent btw). There was even a photo op with different outfits. I think it was one of the Saturday Indos but it could have been Times either (I get both and certain features are kind of interchangeable).

But why miss an opportunity for a moral about what is appropriate in Ladies Lounge. Btw I didn't know we have a new moderator.

    Mod

Please report posts if you don't think they're appropriate people, speculating on-thread about their validity here is back-seat moderating.

This isn't really a Ladies' Lounge sort of topic OP. You'd probably be best discussing this sort of thing in either Celebrities & Showbiz or Fashion and Appearance, though you should take a look at their respective charters before posting there.
