Was looking for a thread on about summer shows but could not find one,so my question would be what would be the best agri show left to go this summer,I was at Charleville show few weeks back which was great but what other shows are left, that would be worth going to?

Tullamore and Tinahely are probably the biggest that's left, Tullamore is usually the second sunday in August and Tinahely on August bank holiday Monday,
    both way bigger than Charleville

The ploughing has lost its way a long time ago, its totally a money making racket and and an event for the masses to attend then the farming community.
I wish some of the machinery companies would spend the money they waste on the ploughing stand on putting on working demos

Tullamore current site is poor when compared with charleville estate as not easy to see some of displays due to hills and hollows. The two wet years resulted in the move to a drier but site with poor access

Thought of going to the Arva show this year (been a long time since I was at it).
I saw a poster saying Sunday 3rd August, but I'd swear a few week ago it said 27th July, & friend told he saw it on the website as 27th July.
Does anyone know when it is on?

Tullamore is the biggest and best show in the country for machinery etc. and huge amounts of livestock of all breeds on display.
Get there early as it takes hours to go through the full show.

Haven't bee there for a few years, hoping to make it this year. Never had any trouble with traffic. I think it's far better than the ploughing from a livestock point of view. There's too much crap at the ploughing that have nothing to do with farming, hopefully tullamore won't go that way too.

Not really. They have it well planned out from the list few years. Just don't leave it too late to go as the traffic can be heavy at peak time.

Was at a show outside limerick today. Stumbled into the craft and home produce tent. Twas like something out of fr. Ted.

The best head of cabbage category had entries ate with slugs. There was a category for 'the best painted stone' and the'best arrangement of leaves on a biscuit tin lid.' Like wtf!!!!!

I had offered a small area at both the NPA and tullamore but was shot down

Reilig when he was the boss had asked Boards for a stand at NPA

It works out at close to €200 linear meter at the ploughing
    Tullamore is already closed
