    Hi All,

Apologies if I’m repeating an earlier post but my I’m looking for a decent gym close to home in the Dunboyne/Clonee/ D15 area.

I’m recovering from a running injury and my physio has told me to get into the gym for a couple of months before going back on the track to build up my fitness and core.

I’ve looked at Verve Gym in Dunboyne but it seemed to be lacking any investment (TVs haven’t worked in years seemingly) and not sure whether they would have the experience to give me a good programme.

I also dropped into Ben Dunne’s Gym in Blanchardstown and the “tour” put me right off. Almost had to run around after the lad who brought me on it while he muttered to some imaginary person in front of him about the equipment. When I tried talking to him about fitness programmes afterwards he couldn’t get rid of me quick enough – I was obviously keeping him from Home and Away. The place seemed very busy also at the time (5.30) – I normally wouldn’t get out to it before 6.30 so have reservations any of the equipment would be available.

    Anybody use either of these?

Have booked a tour of Iveagh Fitness in Christchurch as it is close to where I work but reading into it there seems to be a hefty joining fee which I am unwilling to pay.

Can anybody recommend a good gym in the above areas or around Christchurch where they have plenty of equipment and good fitness instructors who would do a programme for me?

    Thanks

    Thanks

Anyone use Tonezone at the NAC? Looks expensive but worth it?

I use Tonezone and find it good. Although I have nothing to compare to as I've never been in any other gym. They have a decent range of equipment and regular classes too. Staff are friendly and happy to help with programs or questions. They do a rolling monthly contract for €40 so although it's not cheap you can opt out any time and it includes full access to pool and health suite. It can be very busy from 5 to 7 but I think you'll probably find that with most gyms as people use it after work.

I use Crunch Fitness in Westmanstown.Very happy so far.Lovely clean gym, great trainers that set you up with a fitness plan and show you around the place, explaining how and what to use. They are quite pricey, but you can talk to sales person or manager asking if it can be cheaper, and normally you can get membership cheaper than initial price.

Was in the place myself! Looks really good. Large variety of machines and free weights and cardio equipment and also lots of trx trainers about. Staff seemed very friendly and help full. Check them out on Facebook
