There are teenagers that were barely toddlers when 9/11 happened. Almost nobody in 1st year of 2nd level edu was born after the attacks.

I'm 23 btw. This gets worse doesn't it?

(Ageing, not those escalating attacks from Al-Qaeda of course :p)

Asking if a pharmacy had a disposable camera in stock from a counter assistance gets a denial and a irritated look. Tried , and couldn't for the life of me but one in a number of places I tried in a certain provincial town today.

Not buying Empire or games magazine for years and then suddenly buying one, and wondering what happened?

Always on internet, and no once a week internet cafe trips

Passed a movie poster for Springbreak last year with my Son on the day of his 9th birthday and he looks up at me and says ''Dad that James Franco is one lucky sod!'' so I ask ''Why?''
And he looks at me and says....
''Have you seen the girls he is in that movie with! And he's been in a film with Mila Kunis too!!!!''

Hearing my 9y.o boy lament James Franco starring in movies with his crushes....
That made me feel a whole lot older than my 33years at the time! :(

    This reminds me...

My friend actually wrote a legitimate letter of complaint to RTE when they removed BAYWATCH from the RTE2 saturday afternoon schedule in the 90's . He was 8.

    "Bring back the bewbs", P.S.
    Was how he ended it.

Sat with them today and noticed it was from 1969 - the year I was born. Ugh.

Having to explain to a 21 year old that the metal instrument in the cutlery drawer is called a tin opener and before ring pulls became standard on tin cans, you couldn't open one without it!

Couldn't believe she didn't know what it was!!

Was switching my ISP recently and explaining to a young sales guy that my connection had become so slow it was like having a dial-up only without the modem noises. Then I realised he probably wasn't old enough to remember dial-up connections or the noise.

I just found out Baywatch is the most watched tv show of all time. 1.1 billion people.

And I used to hum all the time, then forgot where it cam from, not even sure where it came from until recently again. I actually thought it was scottish and a mixture of other things for years.
Pretty iconic. Gets the hair on my neck rising.

They're not cartoons, Hong Kong Phoey, Hair Bear Bunch, Top Cat, Wacky Races etc were proper cartoons!

Having to explain to my kids that when daddy was young we couldn't just pause, rewind or record the TV and in fact if you wanted to change the channel you had to get up to go press a button on the TV.

The reply : was that in the olden days daddy?

Smtv: live used to run every saturday morning all year.

The least patronising TV show for kids ever made, non PC, my older teenager cousins and parents used to watch this on saturday morning, and it felt like an adult's tv show that was somehow made for kids, because they could make more money that way. They would rip the piss of kids's retarded answers and flat out antagonize then and say what we were all thinking

Parodys of Pokemon and Friends too

What makes me feel old is the music I don't get. Cheap and sh1te. The gay promotion, political correctness, all this bull****
**** over "what dress celebrity1 had on a wedding of celebrity2".
Who sane gives a fcuk?? The world's gone mad.
Boys looking like pretty teenage whores ready to fcuk. New fashion you say. Maybe.
Back then things were simple. More black and white. Today even a cockroach should have a right to vote, his own sexuality, etc..
I'm too tired of all this and I'm really glad I will not live forever, because I couldn't stand the sh1t it all is heading towards.

    Thank you,
    Pawn.

Playing football with lads who were in 1st year and I was in 6th year and now they're 18 and I play football with them. One of the main ones.

Listening to any modern music makes me irk. At least even 2 years ago I could pick out a song I liked. To be fair music is either mind thumping repetitive or about getting drunk and the dance floor or something and then the otherside is depressing soppy music like Kodaline or passenger. Where's a kings of leon, strokes, kooks kinda band.

When I see teens hanging out in the same places I did at times of the year like summer. Memories flood back and I always realise looking at the group of teens hanging out how long and fuzzy the memories from those times seem.

Most of all though I'm just glad I grew up in a time when technology was on the rise but wasn't dominating every day life. I ran and play out in the sun and wasn't concerned about the apps on my phone. I think the days a kid can have an enriching carefree childhood are long gone. I don't think I've seen a game of tip the can or chasing in my estate in at least 6 or 7 years.
