I buy pears in Aldi and they are usually green when I buy them, I usually have to wait a week until they are yellow and soft. Anywhere better to get them?

Look to get them loose. Plenty of green grocers will do that.

When you buy punnets of pears, peaches, etc they're usually not ripe.

Put them in a brown paper bag, they'll ripen faster.
