Dublin will win. I think Wexford might beat the handicap though.

On the handicap I think it's all a matter of how do the Dubs do in terms of finishing their goal chances - they're bound to create multiple chances, but will they take them?

How did Dublin manage to miss that goal chance? They had 2 against just the keeper! Dublin look like they will get a good few goals today

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

Dublin with only 2 points after 13 minutes

Fair to say the scoreline not really reflecting the match yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,590 ✭✭✭CurryFlavoured

    Very wasteful so far.

Almost 13 minutes gone Dublin 2 points to 1 up due to shocking shooting all round. So many poor wides in a very poor game. Dublin looking like they know they can win and not too bothered.

We could have 10 or 12 points if we weren't so obsessed with goals, we'll hit the net sooner or later though.

Dublin assembling a stunning collection of wides and missed chances today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,589 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Its a very free flowing game though so thats good for neutrals like me!

What was score in Monaghan Armagh match yesterday after 20 minutes. That was touted as a dour match but did they have more than 6 points to show.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,590 ✭✭✭CurryFlavoured

A lot of the Dubs look like they're just out of bed. Crazy decision making.

    From the relevant thread

Monaghan's keeper is top scorer and Armagh have picked up 1 black card already

    25 minutes gone.

Poor game if you ask me. Dublin in 2nd gear and Wexford are brutal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,590 ✭✭✭CurryFlavoured

Wexford really are poor, any good side would be causing Dublin trouble today the way they've played for the first 30 mins.

Dublin should really score every time they go forward, they have so much space.

    Thank Boom Boom.

Dublin tacking on the points now. And there has been a few good goal chances missed. So it's not a dour game by any stretch, just the poor misses show a lackof focus on both sides.

    8 points to 5 now.

Wexford are a side that avoided relegation to Division 4 by the skin of their teeth.

They'll be overjoyed at keeping it so close - thanks to Dublin's wastefulness and some decent keeping.

There's no comparison with the match last night - it was almost rugby league fare - handpass handpass handpass tackle turnover handpass handpass handpass handpass handpass handpass handpass handpass handpass tackle turnover handpass handpass foul handpass handpass handpass handpass tackle handpass handpass handpass foul handpass handpass handpass foul foul handpass handpass handpass tackle handpass handpass handpass turnover handpass handpass handpass shot

    "What gear are Dublin in?"

They havent even got in the car yet. They're lounging around outside the car having the chat before setting off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,238 ✭✭✭Patser

If Dublin were to play like this against the Meath team performing as they did for most of their match against Kildare, Dublin would be exactly in Kildare's position at HT.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Dublin have missed some really easy chances, but they are creating them, their movement is so much better than Wexford's.

Wexford are murdering their own chances by moving the ball way too slowly. Lyng is pure class, but even he has no chance against 4 Dublin backs. Dublin use the space way better and that's why they'll win.

    wexford plus 14 looks goood

And that will be Dublin's downfall in 2014

Expect a blitz from the Dubs come the start of the 2nd half - would expect them to get 10 points+ in the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half.

Dublin know they are going to win.The spectators in Croke Park know they are going to win and deep down Wexford seem to feel Dublin will win as well and so far it resulting is a nice kick around in the sun but not a championship match. The only hope Wexford have is to be in this position with about 5 minutes left and then blitz Dublin.

Yeah someday they will go to start the engine when they realise they are running late and the battery will be dead :p

Not sure it will be in 2014 though.

I thought the flour bags were bad, but we haven't shown up. M@&"h would be ahead if playing us. Wexford are even worse

Dublin will turn it on in the second half. Should grab a few goals.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

A fair few of the Dublin forwards doing their chances of an All-Star serious damage today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,590 ✭✭✭CurryFlavoured

McAuley makes that run so well, it's something that you might not notice but it's what makes him so good. He doesn't get into all of the scoring positions by coincidence, he's very clever.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

Dublin just eased into a 9 point gap.

Cricket Score now. Leinster so bad these days. These type of games don't help Dublin for the harder games in August/September.

    Goal for Wexford

    Not great keeping by Cluxton.

I thought he was going to fall over - looks dead on his feet.

Really think Wexford's fitness levels are really being shown up the last few minutes.

O'Gara in acres of space there in front of the goals.

Not a great game, only bit of excitement is the battle for the handicap now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

The space Dublin are getting is unreal at the moment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

mini-Schmozzle and pointless yellows all around

Rory o'Carroll getting hit in the face by the ball - ouch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

Wexford won't be too displeased - they never looked like winning it but it was by no means a complete hammering.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,681 ✭✭✭✭P_1

And there's the handicap, very well taken goal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,238 ✭✭✭Patser

Poor O'Carroll only stepped in to split it all up and got hit with the ball in the face.

Nice goal Flynn there but no pressure at all on him.

Surely its time now that Dublin dont get a home game every Champ match?
