Well its looking like the only people getting to see this much anticipated encounter are those passing through the turnstiles of O'Connor Park. A shameful situation in this day and age, and a total disregard for the thousands of fans who couldn't get tickets for the 20,000 capacity ground. The excuses offered against an afternoon throw in bordered on pathetic. But anyway, enough has been written about that elsewhere.

Turning to this evening, I fear that Galway have had their chance. When was the last time the Cats lost a replay? Tonight's clash will require as much mental strength as physical prowess and while Galway have both in abundance I think Kilkenny have that extra edge.

Galway will arrive in Tullamore full of deserved self belief following their magnificent comeback last Saturday and I expect them to put it up to Kilkenny again and give them a tough challenge but I have a feeling the Cats will return home tonight two or three points in profit.

Although it wouldn't surprise me if this one goes to extra time.

    Local Radio Linkies:

    Completely forgot about that. :o

Still though, it's very rare for your lot not to take the spoils in a replay.

Second days out don't seem to suit Galway.

There is some scandalous "seat keeping" going on here in the stand in Tullamore. People keeping two or three seats beside them free for friends who'll arrive later on!

Anyone know is there any streams for this or if it's possible to watch the match at all?

Really is a farce. GAA should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.

Are RTE showing the Brazil game on their player instead of the Galway game ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Some interesting changes... Joey Holden is more of a back, isn't he?

Walsh to half-forward, Buckley to midfield, Holden to half-back?

Yup, can't be shown due to clashing with Skys coverage of the Ulster football tonight. Rte can't moan to much, as they refused to cover the Dublin v Kilkenny game at the same stage last year, and the subsequent replay. (TV3 also passed on those games).

sure is, how can the KK players tell the ref apart from their own? Could he turn it inside out?

What the hell is Callinan at ?

9 points from frees. FFS Galway

Only 2 points for KK from play is a bit worrying.

It'll be enough if Galway keep fouling, perhaps some of those fouls would have lead to points from play....wouldn't read too much into it

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 2,084 ✭✭✭statesaver

A bit more discipline from Galway wouldn't go astray.

Fair play to FIFA for scheduling the Brazil v Chile game so that the penalty shoot out took place during half time in the hurling.

    Clever forward thinking there.

You have to admire that. :)

Shur, that's plenty of time for a comeback if they can get the goals. Can't see KK making the same mistakes 2 weeks in a row, would be very unlike them.

Cats ahead by six points with nine minutes left.

    Sheflin on for Tommy Walshe.

Five points in it now with seven minutes left
