I'll trade you english lessons for language lessons from your own port of call.

    Spanish maybe?

I'm unemployed now too and get pretty frustrated with the boredom! ;)

A good hobby is to go to a park where people walk their dogs and wait for them to play fetch. It's good fun to confuse the dogs by throwing sticks at the same time as the owner.

Check out your local library. They often run free things, like knitting or crocheting groups, or board games afternoons and stuff. Have you tried Meetup.com? They have MANY groups!

Ask a native speaker about the term.

    Well then hola!

Welcome to Ireland. I tried to do an online course in Spanish but never made much headway.

    Really love the language though.

Im up early tomorrow for a job interview but if you're around in the afternoon we could go for coffee or something?

PM me if you want to set something up.

You standard of English appears to drop dramatically when a photo is requested. Maybe mention that to your tutor.

    What the hell!?

You try to be friendly and maybe learn something while you're shaving down the hours and what do you get?!

Man Ireland has some cynical people around!

    Geocaching

Has it's own forum here: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=1573

Free as long as you have a phone with GPS or an actual GPS machine laying around. After that you pay nothing unless you are really hardcore and get the premium membership

"After hours" is a forum where people often have fun with other poster's comments, much of what is said here is not to be taken seriously. Enjoy. ;)

PS good luck with finding a hobby.

You may want to post in the Dublin Forums, you will get less sarcastic answers there.

Try not to take offense. This forum is not normally used for serious requests. And so, responses are normally humourous. No harm is intended.

You will probably also get a lot less people using acronyms and then explaining what the acronym is, which CDTP (completely defeats the purpose)

Reading is a cheap, albeit somewhat boring, hobby... particularly where it is possible to rent from a library. Go in and look for the most annoying and disagreeable book you can find and see how the other half live.

    You're reading the wrong books.
