My only bet (possibly) tomorrow is Aljamaaheer 9/2 in the Diamond Jubilee

In what doesnt look the greatest ever renewal, i think this lad has an outstanding chance and should be tough to beat.
Most look like Group 3 horses at best here but my lad has proper Group 1 form and the drop back in trip could be the making of him.

Was really impressed with his reappearance when he flew home once he got into gear and im certain he was only 75% for that even though he started 5/4 fav.
Course winning form, will love the fast ground and pace and i expect Hanagan to get going a bit earlier on him than previously as he always seemed to finish with a flourish.

I,ll be having a decent go on hamza in the Wokingham @ about 28/1.powers paying the first 6 home

I'm very keen on Absolutely So in the Wokingham tomorrow, was no sign of stopping his progression anytime soon with a commanding performance at Goodwood last time up when partnered by Oisin Murphy for the first time and should be able to get an advantageous position from his high draw here.

Also think Whiplash Willie is drifting out to a backable price now in the last, has looked better than ever since returning from a massive absence and was actually entered in the Gold Cup, in light of the support for the Mullins horse I will wait to see if I can snag some 7/1.

Hamza has lot of weight man, but priced accordingly.
Might give Racy an e/w pop with Joey booked..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,340 ✭✭✭sdoc13

Think Secret asset might have a chance at a huge price, form on Gd and Gd to Firm. Down fair few pounds in the handicap, has won and run well in big fields and has good draw. Any thoughts?

Statutory 10/1 in the lucky last my final bet of day in a very open race.
Ex Johnston horse so tough as old boots and looks as though it has been crying out for this extended trip.

Godolphin love to win the last race at Ascot*

    *may have made this up

Honestly think Due Diligence is going to run the race of his life. Seems to be improving with every run. Perfect draw, top jockey on board and ground to suit just wish i had of taken the 20/1 that was available last week...

I really fancy Telescope in The Hardwicke Stakes (15.45) at Ascot tomorrow. This horse won The Great Voltigeur over a mile and 4 on g/f ground last year as a big immature 3yo. He has had 2 runs on unsuitable softish ground over a mile and 2 this season, finishing second to the improved Noble Mission each time. Telescope should now be ready (imo) to put up a career-best performance on quick ground over a mile and a half, with the best jockey on board and coming from a stable in form. I will be taking the best morning price but would be more than happy with the 9/4 currently available, in a race where favourites have a great winning record.

So pique sous is fancied in the last at ascot today, even though he's running over the longest trip of his life including his hurdles races.
But strange he's never ran over more than 2 miles on flat yet he's expected to win over 2miles 5furlongs 156yd.
Anyone doubt he will stay the trip

    No.

    No.

Why hasn't he ran over further in hurdle races then as I would of taught he was bought for national hunt

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,880 ✭✭✭✭dahat

Telescope enhanced to 3/1 on PP messenger, Max stake a tenner.

    Surely today is his day?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 299 ✭✭slaneylad

Darwin each way. when the lads bring horses over from america they like to win big races with them. You can forget about his run the last day on heavy ground. I think O'brien has learned his lesson in giving horses hard races on unsuitable ground.

Haven't had much time recently to study but a quick look at the Wokingham and I think BOOMERANG BOB has bits of form that give him a good chance and is certainly overpriced at 66/1.

Backed Dick Whittington in the Chesham at 5/2 last night. Should have won on his debut but didn't get the best of rides, the form of that is very strong with the winner Capello Sansevero finishing second in the Coventry earlier in the week. Dick Whittington was then beaten in a maiden but that was down to the ground and I think he needs a sounder surface to show his best, hacked up next time from a first time out winner on good ground. Obviously I don't have a clue how good the American horses are but DW has shown more than enough and the step up in trip will definitely suit.

Would have been having a big bet on 2.55 Ayr Lawmans Thunder 7/2 if it wasn't for the draw and Martin Dwyer on boards. I think he's better than a handicapper and unfortunately he missed out in the Royal Hunt Cup by 1 spot earlier in the week. Still think he'll take a mountain of beating.

4.25 Ascot Slade Power 4/1 will take an awful lot of beating if he's not inconvenienced by stall 4. You've got to hope they all merge down the middle or drift towards the stand side as far side seems a huge disadvantage.

5.00 Ascot Dandy Boy 28/1 looks to have been targeted at this race for a good time by the shrewd David Marnane. A winner of this contest off a mark of 106 back in 2012, he's back down to a mark of 101 now and I think he looks primed for a big, big run. Again, stall 9 is the negative but hopefully they converge down the middle as I see no reason as to why far side will not be still disadvantaged.

6.25 Lingfiled Freddy With A Y 11/2 also looks to have a great chance if getting to the front under Hughes and represents a nice sized bet for me.

Andrew Oliver didn't sound too enthusiastic about Seal Rock there.

Had a nice bet on Dick Whittingham, should love the ground.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,838 ✭✭✭Nulty

I'm going for Dandy Boy and Boomerang Bob in the Wokingham. Both are well below their best marks and have no problem at Ascot. Dandy Boy is drawn lowish with options he won this two years ago in devastating fashion. BB is highish with options and in his first handicap and he was second in the Norfolk and 7th in the Jersey in the past at the Royal meeting but he missed most of last year including Ascot but his perfomances have been improving since he returned and off 100 and the ground will be right for him. Not big stakes but at the pricees I'll put a couple of points on BB and just the one each way on DB

I'll have an e/w bet on Pethers Moon in the next here @ 11/1.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 262 ✭✭oPATCHo

EKTIHAAM - Front runner, head gear could spark him up too much and he could pull away by a few lengths. One for the in play layers?

Personally, I like him. Just concerned that the field may pick him off down the final furlong

Hugh Taylor had him up on the ATR website last night aswell. Plus he tipped Salutation in the last race 2nd at 25/1.

telescope or my day is shagged

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,838 ✭✭✭Nulty

Dandino being overlooked here I think. Second in the race last year and joint highest rated. I think I remember backing him last year aswell.

Ah ****, his price has gone from 10s to 8s in 10 minutes.

I'd get RUK next year and avoid all this **** about Tea, Top Hats and Polka Dot Dresses.

Did a small win bet on eye of the storm in the next,on the book he shouldn't win....but maybe..just maybe there will be a bit of improvement.miss united slightly franked the form yesterday. Oh,and he only has one eye!
