    Italy 3-0.

    Balotelli with a brace.

    Saulgoode is a dirtbag.

A return to winning ways for Turtyturd.

I hope Costa Rica manage to grind something out of this. If Italy beat them themselves and Uruguay will surely settle for a draw in the final group match. That's not to say I can't see Costa Rica beating England.

Be interested to see how Campbell gets on today. he's beginning to look the real deal

Threw a fiver on him at 10/1 first goal scorer. He's going to be rubbish.

foolishly put 20 on Costa Rica to win at 6/1... So I fully expect 1-0 to Italy.

I still like the look of this young, hungry Costa Rica side.

Put a cheeky bet on them to win the group at 50/1 before the tourney, so Italy'll probably hockey them today.

The way this World Cup is going I'd fancy Costa Rica. Paulo Wanchope being retired for 6 years could come back to haunt them though.

This Italian side actually looks more defensive than the side that played England.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

Italy to score 1 goal early, then sit back and defend for the rest of the match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,676 ✭✭✭AllGunsBlazing

Everything points to an Italy win. But then again this Italian side could go over the hill very quickly. They don't look comfortable dealing with sides that have a lot of pace either.

Do you all think that the England team will be sitting down to watch this match/ I wonder if they watch most of the matches?

Pirlo is the only player that deserves to wear those yellow boots.

Pirlo will create some more magic today and find Balo for a goal or two :)

Pirlo has been awful so far

Costa Rica looking comfortable in possession. A real dark horse imo.

I think Italy will win comfortably but fancy Costa Rica to get a goal.
    3-1 to Italy.

Italians over hitting alot of passes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 661 ✭✭✭derm0j073

Pirlo is playing quite high up the pitch , odd not to see him playing deeper and setting up attacks .

Anyone know what the permutations are for England to qualify from the group? What result do they need here?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,836 ✭✭✭✭Pudsy33

Costa Rica not to get anything realistically

    A draw and they're out.
A win for either and they have a (very slight) hope.

Italy look more threatening in attack but Costa Rica have had chances.

Italy to win with a goal from pirlo would suit me nicely.

Anything but an Italy win here puts England out. They need Italy to beat Costa Rica and Uruguay and for themselves to beat Costa Rica by two clear goals.

Need Italy to win, and then Italy to beat Uruguay too. At the same time they may beat Costa Rica by a few goals maybe depending on goal difference. All very unlikely really.

    Cheers!

Certainly not beyond the realms of possibility.

A win for Italy only works. If Costa Rica win or draw they are basically through. Italy play Uruguay in the last game so both teams could draw that game and England are out aswell.

Italy need to beat both Costa Rica and Uruguay. England need to beat Costa Rica and hope there goal difference is better than Uruguay or Costa Ricas

No foul. Balotelli a big baby!

    Balotelli deserved miss.

    Ah Jaysus, Balotelli. That's poor.

    Great ball by Pirlo.

Pirlo put it on a plate for him .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,133 ✭✭✭Stevecw

decent effort, straight at him tho

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 111 ✭✭Unsung Hero

Italy are superb at those balls over the top. If they had a quick forward to run off the shoulder of the last defender, they would be immense.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,676 ✭✭✭AllGunsBlazing

    Pirlo finding his passing range.
