3k To Spend On A Scott Or Canyon or Bianchi or Focus or...???

So I'm faced with a rather nice dilemma.
In a couple of months I'll hopefully have a budget of around 3k for a new bike.

Currently on my wishlist in order of preference are...

1) Scott Addict
2) Canyon SLX or SL
3) Focus Cayo
4) Trek Madone
5) Bianchi Infinito
6) Giant TCR

Spec wise, I will probably go with 11spd Ultegra and Mavic Ksyrium SLRs.

I want to go with something pretty high end that I will hang on to for the long term and won't need to upgrade.
The most important requirement is a frame that feels alive and engaging to ride.
A fast, exciting ride that's not too stiff and uncomfortable.
(That's why I'm going for the Addict instead of the Foil)
I'm torn between the Scott and the Canyon.
Both seem very similar in price, spec and performance and are pro-level frames.
The Focus interests me too and gets very good reviews, as does the Bianchi, although the Bianchi may be a bit more comfort orientated.
The Madone and TCR are also well proven at this stage but don't appeal to me quite as much.
I'm currently on a Scott CR1 which is fine but a little bit unexciting sometimes.
I had a Canyon UCF before which I found stiff at the time but regret selling now as it was a faster and more engaging ride than the CR1.
Any UCF SL or Addict owners out there?

Hard to look past the Canyon, for your €3k you are getting alot more than if you go the Scott Route no?

more or less full ultegra group/ upgraded cranks if your an fsa fan.
wheels are a downside but the quality of the frame makes up for it.

the madone and tcr's have come a long way in the past 2/3 years.
That Canyon is alot of bike for the money would be a good investment, make sure to get a spare dropout or two.

The Aeroad is a nice looking bike too but I went for the SLX over the Aeroad as online reviews say the Aeroad is not quite as responsive or as comfortable as the SLX.
Does look good though!

The Wheels on the Canyon are worth 1300-1400 yoyos on their own, the Syncros considerably less no? 600 perhaps?

Of course.
Was thinking of upgrading the wheels on the Scott to SLRs but of course that is more expense.
Another factor is that the Scott is available locally and the Canyons are starting to sell out in certain sizes.

I'd say the Canyon, but I'd hate to see too many of them around.

Scott Addict is good to show off to your non cycling friends.

Cannondale super six is a serious contender.

Surely for this money Di2 has to be an option. Its come on so much since the initial generation, the benefits surpass the negatives. As soon as 105 Di2 appears the mechanical market with become niche.

I rode last year with a fella who had bought an ex Columbia HTC Scott Addict and it was one of the sweetest bikes I have ever laid eyes on.

Very quiet on the road-awesome piece of kit. Best of luck with the search:cool:

I have an aeroad. It's a comfy bike in comparison to my titanium merlin. At the risk of being heretical, in contrast to opinions that abound on the interweb regarding the ride quality of titanium, I think the aeroad is more comfortable.

I would'nt let the online reviews put you off an aeroad, some of which are confusing and bewildering, based on my experience of the bike.

The SLX is very nice though.

A family member has an SL due in two weeks and so we will have the horrible job of comparing it with the aeroad. Ha!
