Excellent Guest must be one of my most profitable horses; he has given me a few wins at big prices and also got placed on a number of occasions. He loves Ascot, 7 furlong’s is his best trip and is back down to his last winning mark. 25/1 with 6 places in paddy power is a very decent concession and worthy of a larger than usual bet for me.

    3:05 Ascot

    Wigmore Hall
looks down to a great mark should love the ground and really after only 1 run this season should be spot on for this. He has been dropped too much for a poor AW run at the end of last season. 22/1 with 4 places looks miles too big.

    2 Points EW 22/1 4 Places BetVictor

It goes against the grain to back a Clive Brittain horse. He's a terrible trainer. His best horses, Sayyedati, Pebbles and User Friendly won their races in spite of him training them.

9/2 My Titania with PP for the Coronation is the standout price, only 3's with Ladbrokes. Should be no excuses about fitness if she's beat.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,775 ✭✭✭✭Slattsy

Very very interesting that Buick rides Eagle Top over Western Hymn.

You'd think a tad unlucky in running Derby 6th would be first choice over a maiden winner. 10/1 with PP a standout price.

    My Titania 9/2

My Titania represents a man sized bet for me tomorrow. Although its not ideal preparation having missed intended targets in both Guineas, I think she is a very, very good filly who reminds me an awful lot of her father Sea The Stars in that she only just does enough. She improved upon a good debut when landing her maiden over 7f at Leopardstown in fine style from subsequent Group 3 winner Afternoon Sunlight and she was 5L clear of Lahinch Classics who a neck behind Oaks 3rd Volume on her only subsequent start. She showed a great attitude when beating Chicago Girl in a Group 3 at The Curragh with a further 5L back to Oaks runner up Tarfasha (she clearly improved loads for the step up in trip) and in addition to the form of those two races reading really well I just love the attitude she has shown when racing. Having planned to go straight to the English 1,000 Guineas, I've no question marks about her readiness first time up and the only major concern I have about her is she's been ready to run for 6 weeks without seeing the track. Quick ground is ideal for her tomorrow and I think she is going to take a lot of beating at a price I am absolutely stunned to see available.

    5.35 Ascot

    Santefisio 20/1

In this contest last year, Santefisio was ridiculously unlucky having won his group by over a length on the unfavoured far side as he finished 4th overall and having taken the same route of running in the Royal Hunt Cup 2 days earlier this year as he did last year I think he's primed to run a big race dropped to 7f. Racing here off the same mark of 100 as he did so well last year, Santefisio has bagged a decent enough draw in stall 18 given that there appeared to be a big bias towards the near stand today and with trainer Keith Dalgleish in red hot form at the moment I'm hoping for a huge run here today with PP paying 6 places. Betvictor are 22s but only offering 4 places so I'd much rather back with Paddy Power unlike with American Hope today!

    Tapestry
is an interesting price looking this race as for some reason I can’t like anything lower priced. She was a very good 2yo but flopped badly in the 1000, when obviously not right. I’m going to give her a decent chance to get back on track here. 12/1 looks value enough for the risk.

    1 Point win 12/1 Various

If there is money for Tapestry i'd be very interested in her, she was very well back for the 1000.

Agree she was obviously there number 1 and with bracelet winning today bit of a boost. 12/1 definitely worth the risk.

Patience Alexander tomorrow in the first at 4/1. Beat Tiggy Wiggy nicely last time out at York, form took a nice boost earlier in the week.

Can't disagree, Snow sky in the king edward is an e/w backable at 6s. Might just take a back seat and do a couple as the day goes on, won;t be getting stuck into anything tho.

Been out of the loop on the racing front so just logged in to see who's running this evening (along with everything else :) )and see a horse i fancied for the 1k and a couple put up here in my Titania. Agree with everything said. She would not be running unless ready to do here self justice so if she's as good as the regard I held her in since last season, she is value ew 9\2. A filly so my usual caution applies :)

The other one I fancy is perhaps less obvious and hard to make a case for but chucked him into my notebook after his last run is miners lamp. A big step up in grade but I'll chance him at ew 10\1. Wrapping both in an ew double. Good luck tomorrow everyone

Scratching around looking for backup in this race and came across Georgian bay who won the race on the wrong side of the track in the Victoria Cup last time out here. There were some very good Ascot Stalwart’s over that side including my fancy Excellent guest and given that he is very well drawn today in 28 he should stands a much better chance today. The 6 places with paddy power again looks value at 28/1 . In addition I picked Santefisio the other day and he ran an eye-catching enough race, and will surely be set to run a repeat of last year when he also ran in both and finished a good 4th in this again on the wrong side. He is well drawn near the middle and although I was hoping for a bigger price I’d be kicking myself not to have a saver on him now.

1 Point EW Georgian bay 28/1 6 Places Paddy Power
1 Point win Santefisio 25 Betfair

Sir Reginald looks very overpriced in the 5.35. Has form with red refraction giving lots of weight who was close to Blessington in its last race. 25/1 6 places looks too good for me.

PP Messenger bet 10 on 2.30 and get free bet on 5.35....

Sexy legs and Rossoms fancy is where my two bets went.

Sexy Legs is a great e/w bet in the first @ 10/1 with bet365/betway paying first 4 places.

Also big fancy for O'Briens Adelaide in the King Edward. My main 2 bets today.

It'll be interesting to hear what Jim McGrath has so say about him before the race.

Patience Alexander is very weak in the betting for the Albany. Stan James are hawking it at 11/2. Seems ominous.

I agree. Will stay away from three races. Energiser e.w. and Adelaide, MyTitania to win.

Possibly down to being trained by Dave Evans and not one of the more high profile big race trainers? On form she should be about 3/1 IMO.

Why does channel 4 keep interviewing these halfwits who have no interest in racing.this coverage is gone beyond a joke!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,370 ✭✭✭rossom

Can't not back Patience Alexander each way at 9/2 with Bet365 in the opener. Beat Tiggy Wiggy last time who has shown really good form afterwards and was a fine 2nd in the Group 2 Queen Mary on Wednesday. This is a Group 3 and I'd be very, very disappointed if she's not in the places. Agree completely that if she was trained by a Hannon or O'Brien she'd be much shorter in the betting.

No harm done with Patience Alexander but that was impressive by Cursory Glance. That Kempton Maiden she won Varian targets with nice horses. Won it with Princess Noor on debut in 2013.

Anyone see Goodbye Dancer at Market Rasen there? I know it was a poor juvenile hurdle but he did everything wrong, played up before hand, sweated up very very badly and still hacked up on the bridle. During the race I was saying to myself there was not a chance he would get home after pulling the arms off STD all the way round. Looks a nice prospect.

I was on the Johnson gamble and all and STD's yoke dotted up by, wow, must have been a big price in running. I had it ruled out after a mile in.
