Our nation is getting f****d over

I can't understand why the general public as a whole fail to recognise or act upon the way in which our country has been run. The following crimes committed by our government SHOULD cause uprisings in response.

1.Our natural resources are being raped. The TD's that we elected to SERVE our country happily signed away 500 billion euro's worth of oil and gas. Shell are probably laughing at us behind closed doors.

    2. The majority of us remain oblivious to the fact that an industrial strength poison is being added to our water. Water fluoridation has been banned by 98% of the world in response to the problems that it has been proven to cause.

    3. It is unjust and indefensible that Ireland must bear the current debt burden – just to protect Europe’s banks. Ireland’s debt is not the debt of the Irish public – it is partly caused by the reckless gambling of German and French banks. However, we happily throw our earnings away to these dirty banksters.

    4. The EU has made in excess of 140 Billion euros from Irish fishing waters. Many Irish people are under the illusion that EU membership has benefited us, by giving us better roads and agriculture grants. However, Ireland's net benefit to being part of the EU is a measly 41 Billion euro. We are therefore in a deficit. We have received 41 billion, but 140 billion has been stolen. This is a disgrace.

We are being taxed to an incredible extent and a whole generation is currently being forced to leave the country looking for work. If we stood up and reclaimed our natural resources, and stopped repaying the elite banksters, we would certainly be in a better position.

We can't bust heads like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to tell 'em stories that don't go anywhere - like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe, so, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. “Give me five bees for a quarter,” you'd say.

Now where were we? Oh yeah: the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...

OP lacks a mention of 'sheeple' and 'burning bondholders', otherwise a pretty solid effort.

You do realise that the word "repaying" means we have to pay because we owe it, not just because we want to pay them?

It's like saying you're not going to keep paying your mortgage because you don't like bankers.

Well what will we do about it?.

So, in summation, if elected, you'll be delivering an instant €640 billion budget surplus? Seems legit.

what Natural resources? could we as a state afford to explore and extract them? with such a poor hit rate would companies be willing to pay a higher premium for exploration rights?

Aside from a few obvious issues like 'a whole generation' emigrating.

Surprised he doesn't mention 'best and brightest'.

1 I can imagine plenty of oil companies have wasted money on non existant resources as well, its just another gamble.

2 fluoride is scientifically proven to be grand, anybody with a toothless grandpa can see the benefit.

3.yep the bankers robbed us and a bigger nation strong armed us, please tell us for the millionth time.

    4. Tell all the people working in the pharma, tech and finanical sectors to jack it in then and start fishing then if its worth that much. Im sure they'll love 80 hour weeks for 30k a year.

Methinks your cherry picking fishing and direct benefits and forgetting about all the indirect benefits of being in the eu. Lets face it we dont have the resources of norway or the banks of the swiss

You are hilarious. It's only added in minute quantities but over time it does cause harmful effects. It costs the taxpayer money, it is bad for us, it has been banned in most countries, so why the f**k is it still in our water. There's no reason for it to be added. If you want your body full of fluoride, you can go eat a few tubes of toothpaste and see how you "alive" you are.

we haven't given away any oil and gas?

In 1989 the minister for energy, Ray Burke, reduced the state’s 50% share in its offshore oil and gas to zero. He also abolished royalties. It was under these terms that a frontier licence was awarded to explore the area off the north-west coast of Ireland in 1993. Three years later, large reserves of gas were found 80km from the Mayo coast, in what has become known as the Corrib gasfield

How much have Shell spent to date, and how much gas have they sold?

35 years doesn't count as "over time"? Are we talking geological time scales here?

Tremble in fear everyone, if you keep drinking the water it might harm you in about 12,000 years. According to some guy on the internet.

I don't have a clue. Anyways what we should have done was formed a state company in charge of oil and gas exploration. It might cost us a few billion to find the oil and gas but in the long run it would be worth it. How do you think Saudi Arabia did it? They were a third world country before they formed a state company to find oil and gas. But they took the risk and reaped the rewards.

Cancer rates in the republic are higher than in the north, where water isn't fluoridated. Oh no, thats just a coincidence isn't it. Fluoride would never do that.
