Much of a muchness. A big wrap might have more calories than 2 slices of bread as well.

Well thats a bummer, what would be your recommendation to replace bread if that is the case

What are you replacing it for? Either have it or don't! There's no substitute really. A wrap / slice of bread are pretty much the same as far as nutritional profiles go.

If you want to steer clear of wheat you could try rye bread / pumpernickel. Ryvita or rice cakes could be worth a look in.

How about using iceberg or cos lettuce leaves as a wrap

I was advised before to use the Weight Watchers Brown Bread or Hovis Nimble bread, I think its approx 80 calories a slice, so a sandwich is 160 calories for the bread. Other sliced pans can be 100-120 calories per slice, try avoid rolls etc... Weight watchers wraps are I believe 100-120 calories per wrap... I actually use one of these wraps as a base for a pizza too, works fine and holds together..

Most of the 'low-calorie' breads are just smaller slices. WW bread is a case in point.

    Same with wraps.

Just have something different instead of trying to think of substitutes
It's summer, stick a load of meat and stuff onto some salad leaves

Wraps are just flattened bread. If you are cutting out bread then this also means wraps.

I feel your pain OP. I found bread almost impossible to give up.. I just limited it to one small wrap per day. Before I could often eat half a sliced pan in one sitting!

The Food Doctor pittas give the best size to calorie ratio in my experience. They're tasty too.

If you really want to cut out the bread then just drop all pretence of it being a sandwich. Get a decent lunch box and fill it with meat, veg, leaves etc.

They are both rubbish- eat what you have for dinner today for lunch tomorrow.

    Didn't know that, that's hilarious!
