Ah, Khosro Heydari. He's in my WC fantasy team as a forward, shame he actually plays right-back.

Keep your eye on the Nigerian keeper and the clock

    /just sayin'

The Super Eagles have a decent bench Peter Odemwingie, Joseph Yobo, Shola Ameobi :cough:

Normally wouldn't watch this in a month of Sunday's....but it's the World Cup so gonna be glued to it!! :)

Anyone fancy a sweepstake on the how long into the game it takes before a commentator mentions how Nigeria play with "freedom" and such "joy" (first world media code for they're Africans who can't really play this game yet).

Japan ivory coast was the game to demonstrate dedication. I was weak and turned it off after 14 minutes.

I lasted half time before I nodded off

How about "defensively naive". That's guaranteed to be mentioned even before kick off.

Mikel will be MOTM, calling it now.

Always liked Teymourian, thought he was a classy middle of the park man. Sneaky feeling they might get a result here, so long as Ameobi isn't unleashed upon them from the bench.

10/1 if you fancy a nibble. Tends to perform much better for country than club.

I'm going for a draw in this, saw Nigeria play USA a couple of weeks ago and they were muck!

He's given a licence to play for his country, he's the main play maker. He's a fantastic passer of the ball. I think he's wasted as a destroyer, he has so much more to his game.

    Fact of the day.

Cork man Frank O'Farrell managed Iran to win the Asian Cup in 1976.

I love how RTE are blaring the music so ya can't hear Whelan's lack of knowledge on the Iran side.

Talk of Twitter of him being fixed for MOTM whatever his performance, helps if he has a good one though obviously. As low as 13/2 and as high as 9/1 now.

    fckin lens flare

Quieroz looks well for 61, wouldn't think that he had been 'around the block'.

That lens flare is getting annoying pretty quickly.

Anyway, probably not going to be getting a classic here, I'm thinking Nigeria to edge it.

    Football. J.J. Abrams style.

That lens flare is slowing my stream down, and I can't find the option to turn it off. Maybe if I reduced AA from 16x to 2, and set shadows to medium?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,704 ✭✭✭LightningBlue

Not a foul on the keeper for me. Soft decision.

Some of those Iranians would look comfortable with machete's or machine guns.

Nigeria don't look half bad so far, might adopt them as my team for the tournament. Come on you boys in green! :P

I reckon Nigeria are gonna cruise this.

Victor the only big player living up to the hype so far.

Don't worry, they're Iranian so it's okay. If he said something that could be construed as racism when describing the Nigerian fans, that would be wrong.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,633 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Just switched on and my hopes for Nigeria nose-dived when I discovered that Moses made the squad let alone the first team.

    Nigeria playing anti football
