Maybe you could try giving the Access office a phone call/arranging a meeting and seeing what they say. It might be that the deadline is so far gone that they literally can't do anything about it, but at least they'd be able to adivse you what your next steps should be.

I think the deadline for TAP in TCD is fairly rigid. However, there are affiliated courses in Whitehall and Crumlin. They may be more flexible on deadlines, worth a try.

I don't think TAP should be a back-up for those who don't get the course they wanted. It's supposed to help people get into college who otherwise probably wouldn't, based on socioeconomic factors.

First, perhaps the OP was unaware of the other benefits, and didn't wanto be a special applicant. Second, in the event that s/he doesn't reach th minimum, is that not an indication thar s/he is potentially deserving of a HEAR place?

I'd say call into the office in TAP, they're really friendly people, and even if you don't get in there, they'll be able to advise you about the other college, Pearse and Plunkett do the TAP course too. I just did the TAP course, like yourself I didn't get the mature route way in, I'd never have been able for it anyway, TAP first is a great option, and don't worry if the course is for you or not, just see about applying and they'll decide if it is for you or not. Good luck. Also I'd really recommend doing TAP first, it's an amazing year, hard fun and life changing.
