Fear:confused:. Liverpool bought Southampton's 2 best players last seasom who were Man Utd's rivals. Lallana scored more than Nani,Valencia,Young, Kagawa & Zaha combined.

Homer has a point though, with all the work we still need to do this summer searching for a back up left back is something we could do without.

If not Evra then Buttner should have been kept, they won't be needed much next season but we still need to have somebody there. Buttner isn't great but he would have been good enough to step in the odd time to give Shaw a break. Same with Evra.

I think both Evra and Buttner wanted to leave so the point is moot, but now we have to fill that position as well and its a hassle we didn't need. Whatever some people may think transfers aren't a zero sum game, the time and money wasted there affects what happens elsewhere.

Can't wait to be battling it out with Southampton again for 7th, our 750 million kit deal should help us buy some upper midtable players to compete with Southampton. Thanks for helping us in our cause by buying their two best players

Evra thanks for all the memories, you have brought a tear to me eye after learning your gone from my club.

You were a superb player and a brilliant professional. A leader in the dressing room too.
Utd will miss your support next season. You always brought a smile to me when you reveled in others defeat.

    Thanks for everything.

you are mr knowitall around here, why dont you tell me whats happening then?

i couldnt give a s*it if two players are coming tomorrow, my point stands that letting such experienced and important players go such as Rio, Evra and Vidic so close together is not the ideal way to do thing and its something of a risk.

Evra is the only one who could reasonably have been kept. Rio was poison last season, he was publically subversive of the manager ffs. Vidic left of his own volition. Evra was signed on for another season and with the back line as thin as it is can you really see evra being let go without someone having been lined up?

Nani, Valencia, Young and Kagawa have more PL medals that Lallana combined, Sorry the whole Liverpool team for that matter.

Also, he played almost more games than those players combined. There's arguing and there's slagging, and then there's just bullshít.

In all seriousness i think Man Utd will be competing for 4th or above but without CL u can't buy top class players like Vidal or Hummels.

What have Nani, Young, Zaha and Valencia have to do with United supposedly not being able to attract big players this year?

You're all such pessimists. I'm still hopeful Ronaldo will be back in the No. 7 shirt by the end of August.

Man City circa 2009 says otherwise.

this then brings us back to our constant argument over whether we have an endless pot of cash for transfers which you seem to think we do. every player that leaves, will cost big money to replace and weve already spend £100m this year...that spending will stop so a suituation will eventually arise that the quality of players coming in may not be as good as Vidic and Evra no matter what age they are.

    2 things.

    1. The endless pot of cash argument is ridiculous if that was the case you'd never sell and player if the replacement cost more. As long as the spending is appropriate then there's no issue to complain about.

    2. Players age and degrade, evra is not good enough to be starting in matches where the opposition has the capability to provide a threat down the right hand side.

As an aside how used you react to the no value in the market line for the last 10 years?

United made the mistake of going to a club in Liverpool to find it's manager last season.

Rory McIlroy showed times are changing again, a United fan getting that winning feeling in Liverpool.

They didn't buy any world class players that summer. Tevez had an average season in 08/09 so did Adebayor. City were offering wages that no one else was near offering at that time also.

In 12 months time it is more likely to happen if it is to happen.

He will be 30, and last chance for Real Madrid to cash in for a large fee.

Did someone do something stupid on Twitter?

I just watched a few videos of Vidal, he really knows how to tackle. I think were it all to go ahead he would fit in well in England.

The problem for Liverpool is they look like doing the same as Spurs did with the Bale money.

Tevez, Toure and Silva were all top class at the time City bought them without CL football.

    Chelsea/City

    Arsenal

    Utd/Pool/Tottenham

With current squads thats how i'd see it playing out. United are probably the most likely to spend big between now and the end of the transfer window imho as they have the revenue stream to facilitate it. Utd are still are huge draw and money talks Monaco/PSG/City/Anzhi. United have a bigger and more recent rep than any of those clubs.

I think a key difference could hopefully be that players Liverpool are buying have PL experience & our other young players from last season should improve. We could definetly do with a World Class signing but its unlikely with Liverpool's wage structure.
