It looks like Time magazine is going to run a cover story on the war on fat. I haven't actually read the article as it's subscription only, but from the summary, I don't think it's saying much that goes against the general feelings here.

It is kind of weird to see it plastered on the front of Time though. The fat-is-OK movement has been building up for quite a while now, I guess this is a sign that it might finally become a mainstream idea.

It'll probably swing full circle for 15-20 years.

Be a while before people cop onto "the moderation diet".

There's currently an exhibition on in the TCD Science Gallery about fat. http://dublin.sciencegallery.com/fat

Surely balance between sugar and fat is what is needed? I'm not sure I understand these "war on fat" or "war on sugar" camps.

reminded me of a US nutritionist's video I watched a while back because he gave a hat tip to Kerrygold

30 years ago I was found under a checkout with a bite taken from a block of Kerrygold.

very little action as you cant form as good an industry around "hey we were wrong, stop eating low fat foods, spreads and what you think you know about cholesterol is wrong". drugs for that are called real food and pharma cant make money on that.

they will however make BIG money on TRT which is coming down the line.

If you can get your parents to ditch the bread and sugar and eat the butter then you know we are going in the right direction
