Groan, another WC thread. Well I'm salivating at the mouth here and I can't fookin wait for 9pm to come, a month of football, three games a day for the first two weeks, lovely jubbly

So rather than just predict who is going to win it predict who is going to finish 1,2,3 AND the Golden Boot with the amount of goals scored. Golden Boot can be shared.

my prediction! Muller could be top tournament scorer after this group alone, even if Germany werent to get any further! 29/1 pre tournament for the previous world cups last scorer! Not a chance Ronaldo or Messi or any of the other cliched, no research or realism "favourites" will get it...

This World Cup has been turned on its head after the first round of matches. Despite them all being pre-tournament favourites Brazil, Spain, and Portugal don't really look like being capable of winning it. Holland must be seen as serious contenders now and Italy, who typically get stronger as tournaments progress, will be in with a good shout too IMO

as highlighted in the US game, any team's outlook has the potential to change at a moments notice, sometimes it's a simple as a hamstring failing.

After Germany drubbed Brazil 7-1 tonight I think you're now the last man standing from all the original predictions before it kicked off. Well done.

To become a total legend all you need happen is for the Argies to beat the Dutch and Germans and for Brazil to beat Holland in the 3rd place playoff. Best of luck with that bit
