Firstly, is this a football forum or a Spurs forum?
Secondly, he picks Brazil and Belgium as outsiders, must have been difficult to pick.

Brazil and Argentina will be the finalists. Just how FIFA want it - (#corrupt) - plus, I also believe they are the two best teams, given climate etc.

I like Fred as top goalscorer. As few as five goals could do it.

Dzeko e/w @50/1 too. He should score against Nigeria and Iran.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,916 ✭✭✭Ormus

    Belgium are like 6th favourites

Fred is the first choice lone striker for the favourites and hosts.

    Brightest dark horses ever.

    Fair play to them.

In the doc about Beckham tonight he said that he's never played with any nationality of player who enjoyed playing football for the fun as it as much as the Brazillians!

got on Fred Brazil double at 66\1 a while ago...

Not convinced by Brazil at all. Even given the fact they're playing at a home World Cup, I don't see them even as top 2 contenders. I'd have Spain and Germany ahead of them, and I'd fancy Argentina to beat them as well. Colombia will be the dark horses, even without Falcao.

    Miroslav klose for top goalscorer
Only striker Germany has and he's going for the most goals at world cups record

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,837 ✭✭✭same ol sh1te

    Just threw 20 on Brasil/Messi on Betfair @ 28/1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,081 ✭✭✭ziedth

Outside bet is Ghana, they have a relatively easy run to the semis if Argentina top their group.

Outside top scorer Dzeko, can be a brilliant player on his day and they have two weak teams in their group.

I see some big shocks in the groups. I reckon England, Portugal and France will find it hard.

I think Spain will do it again though.

My picks for top goalscorer in a €5 E/W bet each:

    Dzeko 50/1
Drogba 100/1 (I think he might cause Japan big problems)
Rooney 55/1 (just a gut feeling, no reason)

Few people have said this but I'm not sure will he start. I'd love to see him get the record though.

France are my dark horses, I think they may make the final.

    Yeah I don't think he'll be a 90 minute man.

He's the only target man they have but certainly not the only striker, depending on how you define a striker. I'd add Muller and Podolski for starters. Schurrle and Draxler are also very strikey.

Brazil to win by hook or by crook against argentina with di maria as player of the tournament.
England to reach the quater finals too.

    dark horses: Switzerland

Belgium will also reach the quater finals

Brazil won the Confederations Cup at a canter. While Croatia lost to Scotland TWICE in qualifying...

    Russia to win!

    €5 invested wisely so;)

If you back a winner of the cup outright with a minimum of €10 stake you get a free €5 bet on the Brazil v Croatia game tonight!!

Went in last night and put a 10r on Germany and did Brazil 3-0 for free!!
And also did (for a friend), €5 on Portugal and Belguim and did Fred 3-1.;)
Didnt tell my mate about the free €5 bet!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,290 ✭✭✭Leinstersqspur

Put a 10er on Spain and Brazil 3-1 with the freebie, jammy fookers!:D

I reckon a score draw tonight, Van Gaal and the Dutch to kick Spain around the park. (changed my mind!:D)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,811 ✭✭✭golfball37

Brazil were blessed last night. The game stank of crookedness so much it turned me off by the end.

To see why our own fortunes have dipped in the last few years was evident last night.

Our recent past in the shape of Luka and our present in the shape of Paulinho who looked every bit as bad in yellow as he does in white.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,926 ✭✭✭Sugarlumps

Paulinho offers nothing at club or international level. I hope he's gone come the start of the season.

What I'd give to have Modric back. Ran the show last night

    Right:
    Mexico and BTTS - 9/2
Spain 3-2 and Van Persie anytime - 60/1
    Chile & Sanchez - 5/1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 610 ✭✭✭Devo from Dublin

    Spain 0-0
    Mexico 1-1
    Chile 2-0

    Right:
    Spain 3-2

I'm thinking this too, for some reason.

    35/1 on it's own.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,290 ✭✭✭Leinstersqspur

Thank Fook for this game, Sanchez and Chile @ 5/1 and threw a cheeky 5er on Sanchez & Cahill both to score @ 10's... Profit 2 days in a row!

One thing is for sure, Glenn Johnson offered nothing Kyle Walker couldn't have.

Walker is miles better going forward, even his defending is better, Johnson's a donkey. England need to wake up to the elephant the room that Gerard is knackered, it'll cost them if they don't drop him. They're not that bad otherwise, could see them beating Uruguay who were poor. Also Rooney is struggling playing out of position, play him more centrally and he'll do ok.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,290 ✭✭✭Leinstersqspur

Yep Gerrard is gone and Roy needs to wake up, he had the balls to play some young players last night but bottled it when taking off Henderson instead of Gerard. Picture sums it up.

Typical bad day for Spurs players, Vertongen with a clumsy tackle leading to a peno and gets himself a yellow. Belgium play crap, take off Chadli and Dembele in the second half and start to pay much better.

It was just like watching Tottenham at times.

definitly some simalaritys-dembele slows the play down aweful with his overconfident too many touches sh1te- needs to release the ball sooner or 1st time to get those speedy counter attacks back to their most punishing

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,837 ✭✭✭same ol sh1te

Just realised the two players that replaced the spurs players scored, says it all

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,926 ✭✭✭Sugarlumps

Paulinho had another diabolical game. Zero chance of unloading him. Offers nothing going forward or defensively. I'm sure I saw him move once or twice in the second half.

I'm sure Corinthians would take him back, they cried when he left

After Cameroon's game against Mexico I thought BAE might have a future at Spurs. After the match against Croatia I think he's screwed.
