Hi, I'm trying to lose weight and increase my fitnesss

I'm using fitness pal to monitor my diet, I'm 5'3", 170 pounds and looking to have about 1500kcals a day, focusing on natural food, high veg, protein and fibre, good fats and low carb and sugar

I was put on a programme in my gym that I didn't like at all, I'm not a fan of doing free weights so I'm looking to change, I don't enjoy the 60 or so lunges in front of two dozen people on treadmills. I tried a spinning class yesterday and although I found it very hard, I've a lot more energy than I usually do after a gym day.

I'm thinking of switching to maybe 3 spinning classes a week, and adding in a free weights class and Pilates class.

What are people's thoughts on spinning for fitness and weight loss?

I don't mind this as a more general discussion, just curious how people here have got on with it or not!
