    Point taken Judgement Day - you are quite correct - Dublin North side.

    Hi - what would be a good avenue to go down if trying to get an honest valuation on a piece of furniture. Father is looking to sell 2 pieces of furniture (19th century 2 chairs) but I don't want him ripped off either.

    Ideas welcome.

    Pictures would help. Also location - in terms of suggesting a nearby auction room if they are worth selling at auction. :)

    They are French Bergeres - usually made from beech.

    Are you sure they are 19th century , looks like early 20th century from the photos...... I could be wrong

    Nice chairs - get some estimates from your local auctioneers
