Looks in good nick. Don't know much about their rakes but I have a Fella mower and its well fit for purpose. Its perfect for my job.

If it has been minded and stored indoors (which it looks like it has) and the price / deal suits you - rock on..!
Anyway this is the week to have have it - best of luck with her.

What sold me on it is that fella specialise in mowers and rakes/tedders where other companies just build them for their line up

Fella is also part of the AGCO group, therefore part of MF Fendt etc and in fairness they make good stuff..

Yeah you can look under the cover and see the cam track and the nylon bushings rather than closed box where you cant see a problem, as I said she's an old girl but worked fine so far

Looks in very good condition, good luck with it. Would be interested to see a few pics of it in action, will you be rowing from one side or doubling up from 2 sides ?

Depends on the crop and if the FIL doubles up on the swarths with the mower. The grass is well heavy now tho

Alright troops. Neighbour here that does a good bit of baling has approached me about doing some raking for him when I can.

How is raking usually charged? Is it acre or hour or how would ye as farmers prefer it to be done?

Anyone know price raking is? I think a fella near me does it for 25 euro an hour. Does that sound about right?

€10/acre some are down at 7 but they'd need to be covering big ground to make anything at that... If you get the trimble farm scout app on the phone you can measure acerage accurately! (The lad your bailing for may thank you for knowing acerage properly if he's mowing to :) )

I was quoted €10 an acre last wk for 60 acres, he'd have to travel over 20 miles to get to me

That I'm not sure to be honest, there are a good few apps around that measure pretty accurately, just the farm scout looks handy as you switch it on when driving around the feild first time and it works it out. I have it but haven't used it yet to be honest!

Was thinking that as each field and raking job would be different

Good, I'm happy out with it . The brother was driving cos he is used to baling and he picked up 8/10 acres handy enough . Its nicer stuff to buckrake than the single chop

Loved the way you could rake the sides of a single or double chop pit to leave a nice finish. Precision chop you'd just make a hole!!

You'd need 8-10 per hour for fuel, say €10 to cover for repairs, w & t, and €15 hr for yourself/ wages, so yeah €30-35 per hour at least.

Looking at it the otherway how many acres would you rake per hour? Surely 4
    or 5? Charge at €8 per acre = €32 to €40

On balance I'd say charger per acre, sounds cheaper and saves arguments over how long you were workin etc , min 8 per hour and €10 if you could get it.

Not too bad for a €2k investment. :)

That's just what I needed cheers jimmy. Just don't want to get caught on the hop that's all.
