Low 60s seems to be my average. I tend to have a problem in that I fully digest everything I read as I'm typing. Faster typists tend to be able to purely focus on the typing aspect.

Being familiar with the words has nothing to do with typing speed if you're touch typing though.

I'm faster when typing from my own thoughts/dictation, but not great at copying text like that.
