What exactly will Whey do for you?

    Hi,

I'm considering taking whey but was just wondering what the actual benefits are.
From reading various articles it will do everything from build muscle mass to fight off cancer

I currently have a balanced diet and would think I'm getting a decent level of protein in my diet. I'm currently getting ready for triathlon season again so was wondering how exactly whey will help? Does it actually help lose fat and or increase muscle? Will it enable me to train harder on consecutive days?

    Thanks

It's a protein supplement. So if you need more protein, take the supplement, if you don't , don't.

It doesn't do anything special outside of that.

It'll make you feel a little less sore the 24-48 hour period post workout.

It'll let you drink a chicken fillet in 10 seconds.

It'll create a mess on your carpet if you drop it.

And if you buy a chocolate flavour and leave it half drank in the sun for a week, it'll provide a torture weapon for your enemies unlike anything else.

Protein shakes can be useful and they have a place but they don't have magical powers either.

They can help with reaching your target amount of protein if you are unable to consume enough protein rich foods.

You can make and drink them in seconds and can it be far handier than sitting down and eating a meal.

Do you really think whey is only for use by people who lift?

The protein mentioned in the video is ON but there are a lot of cheaper online companies based in the uk, myprotein/bulkpowders/proteinworks/gonutrition/titsandass
