How soon after coming off the pill did you fall pregnant?

    Hi Ladies,

    I'm not actually plannning on getting pregnant any time soon, but I would like to have a child one day so I'm just wondering.

    I've been on the pill for about 7/8 years now, I'm concerned that this is a long time and it might affect my ability to conceive in the future - have any of you ladies taken the pill for around the same length of time and then stopped to get pregnant? Did you succeed? Was it quick or did it take ages?

    Just looking for general experiences of coming off the pill and then getting pregnant, I've been thinking of going 'natural' so that if I do want to conceive in a year or 2 I'll be all set to go!

    I first went on the pill at 17, and then at some point in my mid-late 20s I changed to the patch and much preferred it. I had a few bouts of not being on hormonal contraceptive since then (17 years in all.... flipping heck I've been having sex for half my life :pac:), but have been on contraceptive a lot more than I've been off it. Took off the last patch in August, had one proper period and got pregnant in late October :)

    Conceived the first month i came off the pill... And the third month after i came off the pill.

    My gp put me ON the pill when we were having difficulty conceiving, told me people are often most fertile when just off it.

    Everyone is differnt though.

    9 years on the pill, pregnant after 5 months trying, on the third (seemingly endless) cycle.

    I came off the pill when I was studying for my finals as I felt it was effecting my moods and concentration...and got pregnant immediately. I would have been better off doing exams moody than vomiting, bone tired and suffering from coffee withdrawl!

    8 months, after being on it 8 years. I think I only ovulated twice in that time, straight away when I came off it and then again 8 months later when I got pregnant.

    Went off it in January 2011, because I was sick of side effects (3 day migraine once a month, ugh). We were using other contraception but sort of lackadaisically, got pregnant in May 2011. So pretty quick for not actively trying.
