Hi I am looking for a gym that has membership for 14-15 year olds.My Son and his team mates want to train during the school holidays to be ready for next season basketball. We live in the Dublin 12 area but not restricted to that area so all suggestions welcome.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Great to hear they are so eager.
You will have difficulty getting them into any commercial gyms which will be either over 16s or over 18s.
I'd say your best chance is doing a bit of research and checking out local facilities like schools, community centres that might have some gym facilities.
What about having a chat with Drimnagh/Crumlin boxing clubs? Who knows, they might help you out...
Also, ask all the various local election candidates - they will do anything they can for you if it means a basketball teams families votes next Friday ;-)

Best of luck anyhow and for the next season.

    Hi

The Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Gyms run a teen gym programme in their gyms. Meadowbrook is Dublin 16 so not too far away??

    From the website :

"Supervised activites for 11-17 year olds, which includes use of cardio machines and some resistance exercises in the gym, and a fitness class from our current timetable. A screening form must be completed and Parent/Guardian consent is required.

    Available in: Loughlinstown Meadowbrook Monkstown"

I'm a member in DLR Monkstown and regularly see teenagers using the gym. A lot of the time they look unsupervised to me but not sure about that.
