    2:55 Newmarket - Parbold

Was only a length behind Shifting Power in a bunch finish last time, when giving away 6lb. Shifting Power went on to finish 4th in the 2000 Guineas.
So 3/1 seems a big price in a listed race against largely exposed opposition (with the possible exception of Aeolus who is 10lb worse at the weights for 3/4L compared to their last meeting)

    Saturday pricewise
12-1 Chopin to find the right note for punters

Richard Hannon has made a flying start to his training career but how could anyone expect any different given the family he’s from and the ammunition he has at his disposal?
Today most people think he’s going to win Newbury’s
Group 1 JLT Lockinge Stakes (3.50)because Olympic Glory is undoubtedly the form horse on his QEII win last season.
However, that came on soft ground and he hasn’t been seen since running badly in the States. The vibes are he’s primed and ready to rock and roll, but I don’t believe he’s that much ahead of some of his rivals.
Stablemate Montiridge should not be underestimated as he has had an outing and will appreciate running on this better ground, but for me the value lies with the German horse Chopin.
I’ve always felt the foreign raiders are underestimated in Britain and Chopin was only 12-1 to win the Derby last season. He clearly didn’t stay that day but still wasn’t beaten far at all and there could be plenty more to come from him back at a mile.
Andreas Wohler won the King George with Novellist last year and has taken the trouble to supplement Chopin, which tells me he is expected to run a big race here. There is every chance he could still be a top-class miler and at 12-1 he is worth backing.
The Scoop6 is the big betting story of the day and hopefully it will be won this week. You will be able to get hold of me in the Bahamas if I get lucky but I will need Bronze Angel to win the Betfred Astronomical 10 Million Scoop6 Today Handicap (2.40) if I’m going to get my passport out.
I see the drop back to seven furlongs as a positive for the Marcus Tregoning-trained five-year-old and on his Cambridgeshire winning form he has every chance.
Bronze Angel ran really well after a long layoff in the Spring Mile on soft ground last month and I expect him to improve on that by quite some way.
Chil The Kite is not out of it near the top of the weights if he can cope with the drop in trip, while Trader Jack also has a chance.
    At Newmarket the
coral.co.uk Sprint Trophy (3.30) is dominated by Roger Charlton, who saddles the first and second in the market. Stomp is straightforward and progressive but I doubt whether he’s as classy as Stars Above Me. However, the latter would have to settle a lot better and Clive Cox’s Fear Or Favour can beat them both.
Cox has a good record in this type of race and has a line to the form through Strategic Force, who was a close third in Nova Champ’s race here on 2,000 Guineas day. The fact he relies on Fear Or Favour is a tip in itself and from a nice high draw and on ground he will like, I expect him to go well.

    Today's bets

    Bronze Angel
    2.40 Newbury
1pt win at 10-1 with Boylesports (9-1 Betfred)

    Fear Or Favour
    3.30 Newmarket
1pt win at 7-1 with Coral (6-1 with Betfred, bet365, Boylesports, Hills, Ladbrokes & Paddy Power)

    Chopin
    3.50 Newbury
1pt win at 12-1 with Coral and Paddy Power

I like Brass Ring 12-1 ew in the 2.05
A more patient ride than his last attempt should increase his chances.

I'm having a small bet on 1.30 Newbury New Story 50/1 who certainly looks overpriced. Ismail Mohammed's 3 year old son of New Approach is quite nicely bred being a half brother to two Listed winners in Tenenbaum and Aischa and the booking of Jamie Spencer looks notable. Ismail Mohammed doesn't generally have debutant winners but he certainly looks to have attained better quality horses this year and I think 50/1 looks a big, big price. Looks like a horse that may well be worth following this season.

Enda Bolger sends out Keep On Track in the 5:05 at Punchestown. Watched this one last time out when it looked super impressive on the same track and almost looked like winning except for it fell at the second last. Chestnut Charlie also traveled well in that race and is a horse I've been waiting for to win, but I think that needs to be that little bit better handicapped. That horse slipped up when in contention in the very same race as Keep On Track last time out. At a much bigger price, it might be worth looking at for a place. Bar the favourite, this doesn't look the most competitive of races, so I think both will do well, but will have to favour Keep On Track given the Enda Bolger factor and the fact that his looked that bit stronger last time out.

Gonna side with the Gosden horse Obsidian 11/1 in the first race at Newbury. To start off a good day for Dettori.

Never,Never is even money now on Paddy Power in this one. AP McCoy on board should do the trick.

    Newbury 2:40

Some pretty shocking racing today for a Saturday but going to have a min bet on Kenny Powers in the 2:40 at a big looking 25/1. He has some very decent form of higher marks and did show some life in his last run. If he can continue the upgrade off this mark he could well get competitive.

    ½ Point win 25/1 Bet365/Will Hill

Kenny went wrong. Another race where the 2nd should have won.

He flew home having to switch but no way he would have beaten the winner. He won very costly he had eased him

Against Chil The Kite? Would be surprised if this was the case. CTK won very easily.

Satalite is the one to take from that race. If he settles he runs the top 2 very close

He really is a top top jockey, just a pity he's not a likeable fella with the way he conducts his interviews, but cannot knock his horsemanship he is without doubt the best around
