    The tv programme says that's exactly what happened. Gearbox oil and filter change and it was fixed.

    That's the starting point.

    Regarding the original advice as I said at the time it's a process of elimination. If a oil/filter change don't improve things move on to gearbox removal and stripping. It's quite logical.

    From experience op it could be something as simple as the switch at the lever telling the ecu that the car is in neutral constantly. I remember we had this issue with a galaxy years ago. But to be honest the car needs diagnostic time with someone who knows what their talking about. As you can see by how quickly people forgot your original issue and got into an unrelated argument your not going to find an answer here.
