Hi I was asked to help a mate upgrade her iMac, its an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.15GHz 1GB RAM 5,1 currently running OSX 10.4.11, she wants to get it up to Lion OS.
So as far as I can gather I can upgrade the RAM to a max of 2GB then need to do a clean install of Snow Leopard. Then upgrade to Lion over the apple store.

I generally deal with PC so have a few noob questions.

Will I have any driver issues with a clean install of Snow Leopard ?
Where is the best place to buy Snow Leopard ?
Will the machine be able to handle an upgrade Lion ?

    Thanks in advance

That machine should recognise up to 3GB of RAM.

    No.

    Apple.

Yes. But it’s digital download only and is no longer sold on the App Store. So you’ll have to purchase a redemption code from the Apple Store.
