Nine people got the result for the All Ireland pretty much spot on. But none of the top ten were one of them. So our preliminary winner of the 2014 All Ireland SFC Pools competition is blowitupref with 108 points. He is 2 points ahead of Redsoxfan in second. There is a three way tie for third place between long time leader Gael85, padd b1975 and henke all on 102 points.
But that could change once I add in the initial predictions people made all the way back in May. I'll get cracking on those scores now.

All Ireland SFC runner up: Donegal

Leinster SFC winner: Dublin
Munster SFC winner: Kerry
Connacht SFC winner: Mayo
Ulster SFC winner: Donegal

Other four Quarter Finalists: Galway, Monaghan, Cork, Armagh

You get 2 points for each one of these you got correct. You got zero points if you predicted a team to win their provincial title and didn't, yet still made it to the quarter finals. And vice versa.

So the 2014 All Ireland SFC Pools Champion is: blowitupref with 116 points.

Congratulations blowitupref. You become the third SFC pools champion after poppers in 2013 and Tom Joad in 2012. blowitupref finished 2 points ahead of Redsoxfan in second place. Gael85 led the way for the majority of the competition but in the end finished in a very respectable joint third position along with henke.
The users with the highest scores from the initial predictions were Boom__Boom, macslash and greeno with 12 points which catapulted each of them up the table. Indeed, had the result of the final been reversed, greeno would have finished with 16 points and ended in joint third. Goes to show what a difference good initial predictions can make.

Thanks to the well over 50 people that participated in this year's competition since May. There'll be a break before I start the 2015 NFL pools competition in late January so keep an eye out for that.
