I think a good few of us signed up for the kickstarter a few months ago

Had only remembered this game when someone mentioned it 2 weeks ago. Haven't seen the video yet but I hope they can deliver with the game.

Will be interesting to see if they can deliver on what they've been promising. It looks good, and the combat seems interesting, so i'll give it a shot.

I had completely forgotten about this, but it's still progressing along. Now with 100% more Brian Blessed.

Still miles off a release is it?

Still predicted to be before the end of the year I think.

I bought the beta version on Kickstarter but I might wait till it comes out properly before playing it

Can you still buy the beta version?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,710 ✭✭✭✭Skerries

looks like you can but you have to pay the full version whereas I backed it at the time of the KS

2 more weeks and she's out.

    Hopefully reviews will be good.

I remember looking forward to this but I had a look at some gameplay earlier as I hadn't heard much about in a while which is surprising so close to launch and the combat doesn't look like it's for me.

    Has anyone played the beta?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,035 ✭✭✭✭J Mysterio

I'm on the hype train for this one. Looks class. I'm just dissapointed there isn't character creation, but what can you do.

    Has anyone played the beta?

I haven't played it since very early beta as I want to leave it till my KS boxed copy arrives

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,282 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

Really hopes it's good, but i'm a little worried. Realistic combat is very hard to get right, and i'm not quite convinced from what i've seen of it. Hopefully it gets good reviews, and i'd be fairly certain of getting it.

    Estimated delivery: Dec 2015
Human's are utterly terrible when it comes to estimating.

Anyway, I think an important thing to take away from this game is how they approach the story. You are not "The Chosen One". You are quite literally a nobody who happened to be given a chance, and that is where it ends. From here on out you're on your own.

Thankfully they are very transparent on the state of the game and have said that some stretch goals will not be met for launch. The dog companion will come in a later DLC which is sad.

It may be worthwhile to wait a couple of months for the DLC's to drop and patches to fix what will undoubtedly be a buggy game at launch.

It looks a bit like a nextgen Mount & Blade Warband... so awesome! I love that game.

I can understand people reticence, the combat looks a bit meh. I'm excited for the immersion this looks to present.

I got over excited and preordered it yesterday. I hope it will sustain my interest.

Some decent gameplay of the beta

Hmmm my worry is definitely the combat vs multiples becasue of the 1st person. You can't seen behind you and FOV looked too narrow too. Are there bows? They were bad enough in 3rd person in Witcher 3

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,710 ✭✭✭✭Skerries

hopefully it is configured for ultrawide

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 81,083 Mod ✭✭✭✭Sephiroth_dude

Combat looks like absolute rubbish and frustrating imo.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,282 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

It's not easy to get a realistic hand to hand combat system, especially in first person. I'll wait and see what its like, and hopefully it works well enough.

I do like that you're a total nobody, and that there's no magic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,035 ✭✭✭✭J Mysterio

They're trying to replicate combat where you would be a bit more tactile and careful with your strikes (at the risk of screwing up and be killed), so as they have said, it's supposed to be a bit like chess, but with high stakes.

That being said, it does look a little simple from what we have seen, and Id wonder about how everyone seems to run into battle in single file, that looks pretty unnatural.

    Hopefully it will be good.

Any reviews yet? Always wary of embargos.

It's getting a 23GB day one patch so the game they are playing to review right now might be very buggy & won't have the Bethesda name tied to it that helps reviewers look past their games bugs at launch.

Seems very little hype/ chatter about this.

What size is this as a ps4 download?

It's a whopping 46.486 GB! Currently downloading. Seems to includes day 1 patch.

Did you get a chance to play it?

    Also wondering.

It's unlocking for me at midnight tonight so will play for a couple of hours. Can't wait!

it only arrived today so tried to install it from the 4 disks but didn't work so had to use the code from my account.
It is 31.6 GB installed but won't let me play till launch day

I'm watching the ign stream. A dev is playing it, early game seems kinda dull & the ign host he's doing it with has been doing a Hank Hill impression which he is finding hilarious

Played it last night for about half an hour,it seems the 1st few hours will be tutorial as there are alot of systems to learn, but it looks good and havent seen any bugs yet. The combat will take a bit of getting used to id say..

    Very slow is it?

    Very slow is it?

Ive only had one fist fight so far,it seems cumbersome,i believe the sword combat is better..

I lost the fight btw,but i have the feeling you are supposed to lose that particular one as it leads to other options that seem to be part of the tutorial.

I won it too, I didn't think you could lose it....

Person in question does mutter that I'll hear from him again about this, so it's possible the result doesn't matter.

The game allows the player to play in a myriad of ways. You could get your gang of friends and gang up on him. You can poison his food. You can pickpocket him. You can break into the house. You can win the fight/ lose the fight/ not fight at all. That's pretty cool.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,282 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

Reviews i've seen so far say it's pretty good, but damn buggy. Which is what i'd kind of expected. Apparently the story is great.

I'll definitely pick it up next month once.

yeah even the ones giving it a low score seem to have a lot of good will towards and would have scored higher but for the bugs. think I'll hold off for a few patches to come out before i go near it. It does kind of look like an early access game to me.

yeah,in my playthrough,i picked the talking skill and stamina,so maybe could have won it with strength,it looks like my mates will be helping me to sort him out after we fling sh*t at a Germans house..

Yeah,so played a few a hours last night, and I really like it,jank and all.. im sure the bugs that are in there, and i didnt find that many tbh, will be patched out soon enough..
