In desperate need of an accountancy thesis topic!

Every idea that I think of seems to be impossible to achieve,requiring access to the big 4 etc etc..i'm just looking for a manageable topic that i can do my thesis on but its proving impossible.... open to all suggestions!!

Would really appreciate ANY help!!

Do something related to small businesses / self-employed? Can you write something which explains motivations of a self-employed professional as related to accounting and taxes and their common mistakes and how can they get more out of the tax system?

If you do a good job, you can publish your thesis as a book and get rich

Its for a Masters of accounting.

Can you look into an area of corporate governance?

Are the current standards for SME's still too onerus?

Could also look at surveying trainees in the Big4.... get a real insight into what its really like to work there....

Well you could try and come up with a framework for measuring the true cost of out sourcing... Most attempts I've seen are to simplistic and the results are more often than no rubbish! And yet outsourcing is becoming more and more mainstream, so having some useful models would make a big contribution to the world of accounting.
