The women here go nuts for cake, every cafe is full in the afternoon. I don't get it, although the granny in law makes an amazing Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte, I can never say no to it but once every few weeks is enough for me.

Of course. If I could eat it every single second of every single day without getting fat, I would. Unfortunately, as that is not the case, I have cake on birthdays and special occasions.

"What is Cake? Well, it has an active ingredient which is a dangerous psychoactive compound known as Dimesmeric Andersonphosphate. It stimulates the part of the brain called Shatner's Bassoon. And that's the bit of the brain that deals with time perception. So, a second feels like a month. Well, it almost sounds like fun... unless you're the Prague schoolboy who walked out into the street straight in front of a tram. He thought he'd got a month to cross the street."

I wouldn't get all excited about it but I do enjoy a nice slice of cake now and then. :)

German Apple Pudding Cake is especially delicious.

There's a bun in it, so also acceptable.

I fcuking LOVE cake! I'd say my inability to forgo eating it for a prolonged length of time is a large part of the reason why I'm in Weight Watchers. I can't think of a cake that I hate, although I harbour only lukewarm feelings about black forest gateau. Actually, the more I think about it, I don't like black forest gateau - too much cream, not enough cake!

I can take it or leave it. I don't bake very often, but when I do I make great cake. It's very disappointing if you get a slice of what looks like a yummy cake and it turns out to be a meh kind of cake with the synthetic after taste that a lot of shop bought cakes often have.

My cake motto would be to have as sinful a cake as possible and if adding fresh whipped cream is an option, go for it. If you're going to do it then do it right.

I used to eat this auld cake at my grannys house, it was called florence or something, it had a white iceing on it and not a drop of cream or jam or anything inside it, it would leave your mouth as dry as a priests whiskey cabinet
