Kilkenny Roots Festival is on this May Bank Holiday.

The Greystone Americana & Roots Festival has been post-phoned to next year.

I don't know any other festivals (with that sort of music) in Ireland ...

Kevin Montgomery at the Dublin Conservative Club on Friday the 16th at 8 pm with opening act Clive Barnes. I found this on eventbrite

I am from the south, so I am always up for a country concert and there is one this Friday but I have never heard of this guy and it doesn't look like the almighty lord Google knows much about him either.

More of an FYI than anything, but I'd be happy if anyone here could recommend(or not recommend) him to me.

Best folk/bluegrass festival in Ireland for many yrs.
Don't have the funding they used to but still plenty quality acts.

I am going. I saw him this year in Kilkenny on his own and thought he was very good.

If you like him, you should also check out John Fulbright.
He is playing in Whelans too. (He is not country but americana.)

Thanks for that, I'll check him out.

Have you got a ticket yet? I'm worried it's gonna sell out soon

Yes, I got mine on tickets.ie rather than ticketmaster, as the booking fee is lower on that site. Sturgill is making a name for himself over in the UK and here so personally I wouldn't leave it too late :)

Rodney Crowell and Emmylou Harris play the NCH in Dublin in July.

This thread is good. I often find out about US visitor acts too late and kick myself. Will keep a subscription to this.

Chris Young and Hunter Hayes also have Gigs scheduled for Ireland.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,942 ✭✭✭topper75

    Emmylou and Rodney were superb.

John Prine plays Ennis (Glór Theatre) in August but I think it may already be sold out.

Anything else good on the horizon?

Where are people meeting? I'm in my own and wouldn't mind a beer before the gig.

There are a good few people queuing at the side of the road at the moment.

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum. Finally decided to sign up after following if for a long time as guest. Just wondering, anyone going to Frankie Ballard in October? I also have tickets to Thomas Rhett in November but to be honest the more I listen to his music, the less I want to go to his gig in november. Gutted about lee brice - that would have been good!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,941 ✭✭✭krustydoyle

Margo Price plays the button factory on the 22nd January..

Just got my ticket for the Friday night Country2Country gig via the 3 presale.

I'm not really a big country music fan so don't know much about many of the acts on over the weekend but I am a big ZBB fan and have never seen them play before so I'm looking forward to this.

Would have great if Darius was on the Friday too as I'd love to see him as well.
