Losing fat and altering body shape!

Hi guys, first time poster looking for a bit of advice so please be gentle.

Quick bit of background is that I've recently lost just short of 18lbs in the last 6-8 months. my current measurements are 6"3 and 13 stone 4 lbs. This has mostly been done through jogging and cycling and an improved diet which admittedly is still something I'm trying to get a firm grip of.

While I'm pleased with the slimming and feel much more healthy, it feels like I've become, for lack of a better phrase, a smaller version of my old self, without a noticeable change of shape.

I suppose what I'm asking is what would be the best way to try to gain a leaner and more athletic body type? I've recently started circuit training a couple times of week as well as incorporating a short bodyweight workout into my daily routine. Is there other things I should be doing? Is this even the correct method?

A typical daily eating summary would be:

Breakfast - Porridge, orange juice and a couple sausages and a slice of toast (whole grain)

Lunch - Ham and cheese sandwiches on whole grain bread.

Dinner - Chicken Stir fry with whole grain rice.

Throughout the day I'll also have a couple servings of fruit (usually bananas or strawberries) and strawberry yoghurt. Milk with every meal as well.

Unfortunately I tend to hit the 3 o'clock slump or throw the previous good work away at night by having biscuits or chocolate at weak moments. This is something I'm consciously trying to improve though!

If anyone has any suggestions or tips they'd be very much appreciated as I'm very much out of my depth!

If you want to change your body composition you'll need to head to the gym and lift some heavy stuff. Strength work aids fat loss without muscle loss. Either ask a trainer for a program do choose a simple beginner routine like starting strength or stronglifts and consider asking them to show you the lifts - you can pick it up yourself from videos etc online but getting real world feedback is better.

Strength work is better than cardio for fat loss but you'll still need to keep your diet in check.
